Breaking News!!! Big Penny 2.0 rebuild fundraiser fully funded in less than 6 hours!!!

Lansing you stepped up today in a big way! In less than 6 hours our campaign to rebuild Big Penny was fully funded! We didn't know if we were going to be able to fundraise enough to cover the costs associated with our planned rebuild, and it was weighing heavy in our hearts and in our minds. We were determined to rebuild Lansing's beloved Too Tall Truck Munching Bridge. But to what extent we were unsure. We came up with a plan, and it is going to cost around $2000 for the supplies. Something that is not really in our budget.

Any money that we have made selling stickers, and merch has gone directly to local charities. Over the last couple of years we've spent hundreds of not thousands of our own money. With one goal in mind, and that was to make Lansing smile. Not for recognition, or for financial gain. But to do something kind for the city that we call home. The city that we love.

Lansing you came through without hesitation. There were some haters, but there's always going to be a few. We now have the necessary funds to create Big Penny 2.0!!!!

We'll leave the fundraiser live until Friday. Anything beyond our goal will go towards covering taxes, and fees associated with the fundraiser. We might grab a couple pizzas, and a couple six packs to keep us going while working on Penny! Anything beyond that will go directly towards our mission of making Lansing smile!

Lansing we can't thank you enough. You are awesome. You amaze us everyday. You are the city that we love, and the city that we love to call home!❤️👀

Breaking News!!! What you see are the remnants of Big Penny's beautiful teeth. We scaled the bridge today to cleanup the leftover mess, and take some measurements for Big Penny 2.0. In this 100% unedited photo you can see the Monkey Masked Marauder holding some of the pieces of Penny that were scattered all over the tracks and nearby woods. Solid chance there were a few tears shed in that mask.

We spent a while picking up all the pieces of Penny we could find. The last thing we want is for her to become litter or a source of blight. It was so sad to see something that brought Lansing so much joy in pieces. Rest assured we are working hard to resurrect Big Penny. To make her stronger, more beautiful, and hopefully permanent.

Solid chance we might set up a Go Fund Me in the future to help raise funds for materials. We are currently working with some amazingly talented artists to design, and create a lasting version of Big Penny that rings true to her original aesthetic. Most importantly it will hopefully stand the test of time. We will likely be shifting from foam and plastic to more resilient materials which are also a little more expensive. Given that we have no budget we might ask for a little help. One way or another Big Penny will be back. Big Penny belongs to Lansing, and she's here to stay! We love you Lansing!
