I was honored to spend this beautiful day volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Kent County on a build site in Grand Rapids. From trim work to installing shelves, it was a great way to help this wonderful affordable housing program. Stay tuned for more.

It was great to attend the West Michigan Construction Institute graduation and celebrate seventy-six students graduating from programs in carpentry, concrete, drywall, electrical, exterior envelope, plumbing, and sprinkler fitting. Their dedication and perseverance are building a stronger future for our skilled trades. Congratulations to all.

Happy Father’s Day!

I spent a beautiful day in Rockford knocking on doors and connecting with constituents on the state issues that matter most to them. By hearing their concerns and sharing my legislative priorities, I am able to be a more effective legislator and help solve the problems of West Michigan by creating real solutions.

The Meijer LPGA Classic is this weekend at Blythefield Country Club in Plainfield Township. I want to wish the players and spectators a fun and enjoyable time. It is always great to see the excitement and strong turnout for this event each year.

I was honored to attend the Calvin Prison Initiative graduation and celebrate the students who completed this remarkable five-year college program inside the Handlon Correctional Facility. The commitment these graduates have shown to education, personal growth, and community impact is inspiring. This partnership between Calvin University and the Michigan Department of Corrections continues to demonstrate how access to learning can change lives and strengthen all communities.

Mark Meijer, CEO of Life EMS Ambulance and MAAS Board Treasurer, testified in House Health Policy today. He showed support for bills sponsored by Steve Frisbie - State Representative that would allow for reimbursement for behavioral health transport programs to better serve Michiganders experiencing a mental health crisis.
