David R. Gilmour, a 1981 graduate of SVSU, has been nominated by President Obama to serve as United States Ambassador to Togo. Mr. Gilmour was the 2009 Outstanding Alumnus in the College of Arts & Behavioral Sciences and has been a member of the U.S. Foreign Service since 1986.

Saginaw Valley State University names Jim Dwyer executive director of alumni relations Saginaw Valley State University officials have appointed Jim Dwyer to the newly created position of executive director of alumni relations.

Congratulations to 2008 alumna Ashton Bortz who is coming back to Michigan to be director of Congressman John Moolenaar's Midland district office, and to 2009 alumna Bridget Sobek who is moving to Washington, D.C. to work as a legislative assistant to Congressman David Trott.
