Elevate Your Event with Exceptional Live Jazz Music

For nearly two decades, we have proudly operated as a small production and promotion company in the Greater Lansing area, specializing in delivering world-class live jazz music tailored to any venue or occasion—all at an affordable cost.

Our extensive network of talented musicians allows us to curate exceptional performances. We collaborate with seasoned professionals who possess decades of experience, as well as with gifted local jazz students from Michigan State University’s renowned program. This blend of expertise and youthful talent ensures a vibrant and engaging musical experience.

Over ten years ago, one of our colleagues introduced live jazz to a bar and club on Michigan Avenue. Although the owners had previously featured various genres such as rock, blues, and country, they were initially skeptical about the appeal of a regular jazz series, particularly the classic swing and bebop styles. However, to their surprise, this initiative has transformed into one of their busiest nights of the week, with patrons arriving up to two hours early to secure seating. The performances, which run from 7 PM to 10 PM, have become a popular choice for dinner and drinks, significantly boosting revenue on what was once a slow night.

Our pricing structure is straightforward and based on the size of the ensemble. The average cost is approximately $100 per musician for a three-hour performance. Most clients, including clubs, weddings, and private parties, opt for a trio, which provides a rich acoustic sound without the need for extensive sound equipment. This simplicity allows us to create an inviting atmosphere that enhances your event or establishment.

Update on newest live jazz spot in Lansing area. We're helping this great venue to meet and hire local jazz musicians. We draw talent from a wide group of experienced, skilled players. No cover charge on Lansing Shuffle new Thursday series.

We're booking a bit of jazz again. New series is at the The Lansing Shuffle, a large venue on the river downtown. (Inside former City Market)

If you've not visited, it's a very large complex, featuring indoor and outdoor seating, wide variety of food choices at the "food court," and of course, shuffleboard! Beautiful view of river and downtown.

First jazz event is May 15th, 6pm to 9pm. No admission charge. Validated parking.

Elden Kelly was so great to work with. I was just getting to know him. He backed every genre that day. No big deal, mm? :)

George DeLancey was at MSU Jazz Studies then. Now he's going well in NYC, last I heard.

On a sad note, the drummer that day, the wonderful Nate Woodruff, died not long after this, when he was hit by a car while walking near his home. We all miss him very much.
