Music professor Ryan Apple had a productive National Poetry Month this April! His poem "Ambrosia, 1987" was published in Trivium Magazine (available to subscribers only), and his poem "Alive, I marveled" was published online through Foreshadow Magazine. https://www.foreshadowmagazine.com/magazine/alive-i-marveled

GLCC faculty Charlie Starr and Doug Walker sponsored a tactical board games fellowship group for students which met weekly this year. Pictured here is this year's finale game where Drs. Starr and Walker played a WWII era giant strategy game with Isaac Kettlewood, Zeke Grimmett, Zeke Waits, and this year's MVP Garrett Thompson. The game lasted ten hours. The group played at Dr. Starr's house where Becky Starr cooked homemade spaghetti for seven!

On March 28th, Professor Ryan Apple and the GLCC jazz band traveled to Owosso First Church of Christ where they performed a 45-minute concert for the church's 2026 Women's Celebration.

On March 15th, music professor Ryan Apple teamed up with GLCC alumns Gene Harris and Nolan McCausey to provide music for Dewitt Christian Church's "Fiddlin', Flannel, and Flapjacks" night.

GLCC professor Charlie Starr took Zeke Grimmet and Landon Yoder, members of his Life and Works of CS Lewis class, to see a stage production of The Screwtape Letters. The play is on national tour and put on by the Fellowship for the Performing Arts, a company responsible for three other Lewis plays and a film about Lewis’s early life

Music professor Ryan Apple is in the final stages of preparing a full-length poetry collection. On Saturday, February 21, He presented an extended selection of his manuscript for an event hosted at Dwelling Coffee in Dewitt. The following Saturday, he was at Covenant Life Community Church to play guitar on two songs for local singer-songwriter Krista Bradley.
