Through all the ups and downs, this has been the greatest experience of my life. The people and places music has led me too have been nothing short of exemplary. That’s why it makes it so much harder to step away

Some of yall may know me as Murrel the artist. Some may know me as Mixedbymurrel the engineer.
The truth is that I am just John. I used to believe that wasn’t enough. Over time, I’ve learned that’s all I ever needed to be. I don’t want to wear the mask anymore. Music used to be my freedom. Music hasn’t felt like that for years now and I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that it’s okay. Music will always be a huge part of my life but it’s okay for dreams to change and evolve. I’m not the same person I was when I was 12 just getting started. And that’s okay. My dreams should evolve as life changes my priorities. I don’t want to run from change anymore.

I will still find my place in all this. It just may be from a different viewpoint. I will always be there to cheer on my brothers in their pursuit of whatever they hope to achieve from this industry. My time as an artist/engineer will, for now, not be my priority as life has other plans in store for me. I look forward to whatever path this door will lead me down and I hope whoever is a fan will understand. Thank you all so much for the love and support. Yall have given me so much more than I ever could’ve imagined. 💙
