These amazing people are dedicated to saving animals from local shelters and humane shelters, and helping them find good homes with people who will love and respect them.

Yet every second, one and a half hectares is lost, while each year, 78 million hectares of precious rainforest are destroyed. That’s why World Rainforest Day has been created to take decisive action to combat deforestation, reduce the effects of climate change, and protect our rainforests for future generations.

They were created by the legendary Robert Green in 1874 during Philadelphia’s sesquicentennial jamboree. Sources state that the ingenious Mr. Green mixed vanilla ice cream in with the soda he was selling, after unfortunately being devoid of ice. Little did he know, but he created a special kind of drink that was to become ultimately and extremely popular in all parts of the world.

In 1911, a bartender named Martini di Arma di Taggia from New York City started serving a rather fancy cocktail made with gin, vermouth, orange bitters and a garnish of olives, heralding the birth of the infamous Martini as we know of it. Since then, the socialites of Manhatten have become synonymous with the boozy beverage.

They come in every color of the rainbow, almost every believable shape and size, and the flavors they bring to the table are absolutely astounding. National Eat Your Vegetables Day is dedicated to getting people eating their veggies, and also in spreading awareness of their diversity and necessity in a healthy diet.

Softball was not invented, as many suspect, to create an easier version of Baseball intended for youth and women to play, but instead was created so that the great sport of baseball could be brought indoors and enjoyed all year round.
