We continue with our special weekly beer tappings today with a collaboration brew with Buckeye Beer Engine (who is celebrating their 15th year this month)! Tie-Ryeâd Rye IPA is a collaboration brew with our friends from Lakewood in celebration of their 15th year anniversary! Loads of Simcoe and a dash of Citra hops on a malt base including Munich malt and 20% rye create a firm bodied, hop bomb with the rye contributing an underlying earthy complexity and a hint of lingering spiciness and dry finish. 7.6% ABV 65 IBU. OPEN @ NOON.
Thanks to our donors:

Congrats to todayâs winner: Susan Zuck
ASAACP: OEC Brewing Triskel is a Euro Pale Lager that's wood fermented and named after the strain of French Hops used to brew it. Right off the bat I notice a slight funk to this along with a hint of sour. The oak makes its presence known and mixes well with the slight bready malt note. Not as crisp as I was expecting but this is definitely an interesting take on an old world style and it feels very old world Germanic. Not sure if the funky Brett note was intended.
HOF: Rocky Patel Premium Ci**rs Sun Grown Robusto featuring a dark tan, incredibly smooth wrapper with no prominent veins. It's got a firm, even pack from head to foot with a double cap and an incredibly rich, sweet chocolate and to***co aroma; just an overall beautifully presented stick.
Getting Started and this stick is really bringing the flavor! On the draw you will notice a dominant baker's chocolate, some very smooth rum and a very heavy, dark to***co on the draw, and those are transitioning into that same baker's chocolate, some earth and roasted nut with a touch of black pepper on the finish. Continuing On and the body's down just a bit, but it's still packing some serious flavor; on the draw, later turning into a dark chocolate, some black pepper, a tiny bit of cream and then some deep earth, and as the finish rolls around that dark chocolate loses its edge and gets very smooth, and it's joined by just some general spice, a bit of black pepper and then some generic to***co as the finish fades

New draft beers for your weekend pleasure:
Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye IPA. Rye has been a staple grain for millenniaâsought after for its stubborn resilience in the field and revered for its unique flavor. Ruthless Rye IPA is brewed with rustic grains for refined flavors, combining the peppery spice of rye and the bright citrusy flavors of whole-cone hops to create a complex ale. Oh how we have missed this beer! Thanks to Ken & Co. for bringing back the fan favorites!
de Garde Brewing The Madison (Batch 7 - 2022). A spontaneous wild ale aged in oak and blended from 3 years of beers. Stonefruit, citrus, and funk with a tart, yet dry oaky finish. This beer is exquisite.
Maredsous Bruin. Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the brewery and the 150th anniversary of the abbey with draft of their famous Belgian Dubbel. This brown beer was originally only brewed for Christmas, but now available year-round. It has a creamy foaming, dark, burgundy color, and easily recognized by its expressive aroma bouquet. A rich caramel flavor complemented by a touch of dark fruits. Allow this beer to warm and show you its depth. Delightful!
BFM - Brasserie des Franches-Montagnes BFM LâAbbaye de Saint Bon-Chien. A strong, mixed-fermentation sour ale aged in wine oak barrels for 1 year. Fruity red wines with a pronounced balsamic sourness. Complex, balanced, with a long, rounded finish. New beers for your Sunday morning:
Wolf's Ridge Brewing Septemberfest - Golden Festbier. In Germany, most modern versions of Oktoberfest are paler in color than the historical MĂ€rzen-style amber lager. Fear not, thirsty one. Golden Festbiers, aka Wiesn, manage to brim with all the malty flavor and nuance we crave. Knock a few back, and then a few more. This is the best drinking season of the year!
Oxbow Brewing Company Grand Royal - Helles Lager. Munich-style pale lager brewed with European malts and noble hops. This bright, Bavarian-born lager is our take on a style driven by technique, tradition, and simplicity. Gold in color with notes of bread dough, biscuits, fresh-cut grass, and flowers with a moderate malt sweetness, balanced bitterness, and crisp finish.
Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales La Roja w/ Boysenberry & Guava - Flanders Red Ale. 1,150 gal of La Roja meets 30 gal of guava and 50 gal of boysenberry. Aged in 50bbl foeders for 10 months to develop the complexity of La Roja while still maintaining the presence of guava & boysenberry. Tart and bursting with flavors of fresh berries and guava, delicately complex and sure to linger in the mind longer than the glass.
Drekker Brewing Company Chonk Blueberry Fluff - Sundae Sour. Stuffed with blueberry, marshmallows, a little plum, and lactose for a crazy delicious & fluffy flavor.
The Brew Kettle Brewery Barrel-Aged Jackhammer - English Barleywine. A big malty monster with just enough hops to keep the beast in check. This version was aged in bourbon barrels adding hints of bourbon, oak and vanilla to a already complex beer.

A cask of The Brew Kettle Brewery White Rajah IPA dry hopped w/ Simcoe now available on the beer engine at Buckeye Beer Engine
A West Coast style IPA full of citrus and tropical fruit hop flavor and aroma with an assertive, yet smooth, bitter finish. An addition of Simcoe hops in the cask take this one to another level! Available exclusively at Beer Engine đ»

We got excited when we heard J. Wakefield Brewing & Schilling Beer Co. teamed up to brew a French style Pilsner. While not available in draft format (would have been great on the side-pull), we brought in a single case of cans for you all to enjoy.
Now available at Buckeye Beer Engine: Mer Et Montagnes - A Pilsner collab with Schiling made with French malt & Strisselespalt hops gives you a chance to unwind, find solace in nature's wonders, and immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring beauty that surrounds you.

When we approached our friends at Columbus Brewing Company about a collaboration beer, we wanted a break from the norm. After much discussion, we arrived at a beer that was both approachable and refreshing for patio season and something the brewers would actually want to drink themselves. Rockport Streetcar is a tropical White IPA using a healthy dose of wheat, a Belgian Saison yeast strain, and a hop blend of Citra, Sultana, and Idaho-7 for a unique citrus, pineapple, and spice character. Tapped today and featured on our $12 Burger & Beer Monday Night special, this beer is spectacular and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Now on tap and available throughout the month of August! đ»

New beers for the weekend and some last calls:
Other Half Brewing Company DDH Broccoli. Double Dry Hopped Broccoli takes our Broccoli to the next level. Brewed with lots of wheat, oats, Cascade, Hallertau Blanc, Mosaic and Simcoe. We then hit it again with second dose of all those hops plus Simcoe and Mosaic lupulin powder.
Maine Beer Company Prince Percy. This is the last of 3 kegs we brought in for the LUKR CZ a.s. side-pull. Get it while you can! Hopped with GrĂŒngeist hops, and featuring local Maine malted grains, this lager represents a shift from our classic ale lineup, with a nod to our hop-forward focus. âŁThe beer is named in honor of Percy, the spotted turtle, who serves as an animal ambassador for the Center for Wildlife, one of our 1% for the Planet nonprofit partners.
Siren Craft Brew & Cigar City Brewing Barrel-Aged Caribbean Chocolate Cake. We had the base beer on prior, but this version is aged for 12 months in Buffalo Trace and rye bourbon barrels. Cacao nibs give this beer a dark chocolate, tart black cherry character followed by spirit and tannins from the oak. Allow this beer to warm, and a bouquet of spice and vanilla will be present as it opens. A truly unique stout.
Hidden Springs Ale Works Ezra the Lion. Sour Ale with Strawberry, Peach, and Lactose. It benefits the Beat Childhood Cancer Foundation by raising money and awareness to the organization. Drink for a good cause!
Equilibrium Brewery & Parish Brewing Company Ghost in the Laboratory. Using a mashed up grain bill from Straight Outta The Laboratory and Ghost in The Machine, and the heaviest dry-hop in Equilibriumâs history, this beer has strong aromas of mango supported by tropical nectar. The flavor is mango smoothie, Grovestand Orange Juice, tropical fruit cup in syrup, dank grass, and a rainbow melon creamsicle note from our finish.
Last call on Columbus Brewing Company Hazy Bodhi before we tap our newest collaboration beer: Rockport Streetcar. Brewed with Azacca, Citra, and El Dorado hops. Tasting notes of oranges, pineapple, mango, and stone fruit.

Weâre switching up our daily specials starting today. Stop by for one of Lakewoodâs best Happy Hours from 3-6pm and stay for featured food and beverage throughout the week.

If you're in the 614, make sure to visit our friends at Columbus Brewing Company and try our newest collab: Rockport Streetcar. Now available at their taproom and beer hall in Cbus and available SOON at Buckeye Beer Engine!
We decided to do something a bit different than your usual New England or West Coast IPA with this one. In pursuit of an easy drinking, approachable beer with a pleasant, not overpowering bitterness, we combined the old with the new. Brewed with a healthy dose of wheat and fermented warm with a Belgian-Saison yeast strain, we added Citra, Sultana, and Idaho 7 to create a tropical medley with aromas of citrus, pineapple, and spice. Coming in under 7% ABV means you can have more than one pint of this White IPA while enjoying the summer weather on your favorite streetcar suburb patio!
đRockport Streetcar now available at Taproom and CBC Beer Hall! đ

Maine Beer Company Dinner is now pouring at the corner of Madison & Arthur. We rarely get our hands on this delicacy, but when we do, it tends to go quickly. We have another delightful beer from Maine waiting patiently on deck. Letâs just say that oneâs a bit more crispyâŠ.

Sierra Nevada finally brought back Summerfest. Itâs about damn time. Hopefully Ruthless Rye will be next!
Now on the LUKR CZ a.s. side-pull faucet: Summerfest is golden bright, balancing delicate yet complex malt alongside spicy, floral hops. Hints of lemon zest lead into a dry finish, and the sessionable 5% ABV invites another round on those endless summer days.

Burger of the Month for July is an oldie, but a goodie: The Devil Made Me Do It is back for a limited time only! Our signature chargrilled 1/2lb Ohio beef patty topped with applewood smoked bacon, pepper jack cheese, house-made deviled egg salad, and drizzled with spicy aioli.

New beers to combat that holiday hangover or keep the party going! đ§š
Epochal Barrel Fermented Ales is new to us, but their beers are absolutely fantasticâŠand weâre the only place you can get it in Ohio thanks to our great partners Lime Ventures. Angle Trisector is a 4.5% Scottish table beer brewed with Scotch Common but hopped with Ernest grown by Hukins Hops in Kent. Ernest was bred in the 1950âs (by a guy called Ernest, fantastically) but has an extraordinary intensity of fruit character more typical of very recently developed cultivars.
We have a trifecta from our friends Dancing Gnome Beer. Expect to see more of their beers on our taps soon! Spy Dolphin DIPA is bursting with sweet and sticky Idaho 7, Citra, and Simcoe for a resinous, citrusy experience that makes this one of our favorites. Midwest Menagerie is a collaboration w/ Great Lakes Brewing Company This hazy IPA is saturated with globally sourced hops for pungent notes of pineapple, tangerine, lychee, and juicy peach. Track Botanical is an oat heavy IPA with a blend of Centennial, Chinook, Citra, Amarillo, Columbus, and Mosaic.
Itâs been a long time, but weâre happy to see Off Color Brewing back on our list. Apex Predatorâs saison yeast expresses explosive juicy fruit and pineapple aromas meshing with lemon grass hop profile ending with a pleasantly dry finish. Twelve Percent Beer Project yes, please!
Last but certainly not least, from our friend Sebastian at Freigeist Bierkultur: Lemon Radler. The perfect thirst quencher for this heatwave! đ»

CASK Ale now available on the :
Collision Bend Brewing Company Aft the Breeze
This American Amber Ale was made with Red X Malts and Sitiva Hops. Toasted and sweet caramel notes with a clean, balanced bitterness. Tastes like one of the beers you all were asking for back in 2007 before you met Hazy IPAs and overly-fruited sour beers. Thanks to the crew @ The Bend for bringing us back! Now available exclusively at Buckeye Beer Engine đ»

New on tap this week:
Untitled Art & Moksa Brewing Company Apricot Pineapple Sour. We stole a little sunshine from our Golden State pals at Moksa Brewing and fermented it into the liquid gold you see before you. This light and tart kettle sour is sweetened with a healthy dose of pineapple and apricot purees for a smooth sour bursting with rays of tropical and stone fruits. If mouth-puckering sours or thick and chewy smoothie-style beers are a little too extreme, this easy-sipping golden nectar is sure to hit the spot.
PĂ”hjala Brewery Ăö An Imperial Baltic Porter as dark as the Estonian winter nights. Strong enough to keep you warm through the cold evenings. A rich body comes through at first. Initially the espresso-like acidity is balanced by a sweet taste of caramelised toffee. As your glass warms up you should expect to taste redcurrant, mixed with a dark chocolate, washed down with a slight alcoholic warmth.
Other Half Brewing Company Forever Ever. Our highly hopped, low ABV crusher brewed with Mosaic, Cashmere and Citra and then double dry-hopped with even more Citra and Mosaic for full flavor in a small package.
Timber Ales & Casa Agria Specialty Ales Star Searching. Our IPA collaboration with our friend Eric from Casa Agria, dry-hopped with Citra and Galaxy hops.
Wolf's Ridge Brewing Dire Wolf Canis Mexicanus. Dire Wolf Imperial Stout aged on vanilla bean, cocoa nibs, cinnamon, chilis, and One Line coffee.
Sierra Nevada Hoptimum. The 2023 appearance ramps up the West Coast flavor profile, dry hopping with Simcoe, Idaho 7, Chinook, and Magnum for heaps of resinous pine and a fruity medley of orange, grapefruit, and berries. The soaring ABV and IBU find balance in the sturdy malt body, yet this giant still drinks crisp and smooth, just like Hoptimumâs outfit.
Great Lakes Brewing Company Mexican Lager. Find a sunny spot and lounge awhile with this golden Mexican-Style Lager, brewed with real lime peel and purée and flaked corn for a crisp and refreshing getaway.

Moving some absolute bangers onto the bottle list. Take a look! đ
Welcome to Ohio Tommie Sjef!
A beer blendery from Den Helder, the Netherlands making absolutely remarkable wild alesâŠand weâre the only place in the state with their bottles! Franc is a wild ale with Cabernet Franc and a touch of KĂ©kfrankos red wine grapes. After maceration with the grapes, we aged the beer further for another year and a half on a foeder that previously contained Amarone wine from Veneto, Italy. This rounded out the beer and gave it more complexity and depth. Before bottling we added a small amount of a comparatively younger beer with KĂ©kfrankos grapes, to give the overall blend some freshness. It starts with a delicate aroma of fresh strawberries, cherries and rose petals, followed by the wine notes of the barrel and some funk. In the first moments of tasting the beer you will get jammy red fruits like blackberries, cherries and raspberries, after which fresh plums and roasted bell pepper follow. The barrel gives the beer a rich spicy, almost chocolaty and smoky flavour.
And more from our friends at Lambiek Fabriek:
Fontan-Elle is a selection of barrels containing 1- and 2-year old lambic chosen for their fruitier characteristics and bottled without the addition of older lambic.
All of our packaged beers are available for in-house consumption and to-go! đŸ

Classic Belgian beers served in Yeah, we got that!
Rodenbach Alexander contains 1/3 part young beer and 2/3 parts beer that has matured in an oak foeder for two years, steeped with the natural juices of ânoorderkriekenâ cherries.
Without a doubt, with its uniquely balanced palate, fruity touches, and complex finish, this is one of the best sour ales from this Flanders brewery, that specializes in this traditional beer type.
Rodenbach Alexander was created in 1986 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Rodenbach, co-founder of the brewery and âspiritual fatherâ of Rodenbachâs sour foeder beers. Now a permanent staple on our bottle list.
Brasserie Dupont Saison Dupont.
Farm beers of this type â light, rather dry but fruity â were traditionally brewed during the winter, ready to quench the thirst of the seasonal field workers during the summer to follow.
Times have changed and saison is now brewed all year around. The main fermentation period is followed by a long, warm maturation stage during which hops are added.
The beer is re-fermented in the bottle, thus increasing carbonation, giving it its characteristic zesty and refreshing taste.
Saison Dupont was first brewed in 1844. This copper-blond beer yields amazingly delicate aromas paired with a pronounced hop-bitterness. The house yeast and the local hard water, drawn from a well, play an important role in the creation of this beer.
An in-bottle refermentation makes a major contribution to the development of this complex and highly aromatic beer.
This unfiltered saison remains true to the original tradition of farm beers; its cloudy appearance testament to this authentic production process.

Were we the first bar in Ohio with a LUKR CZ a.s. side-pull faucet? Yes. Do we have the most eclectic variety of pouring on it? Yes.
Now pulling: Old Nation Brewing Co. Rubikon (kegged 5/19). While many of you know this brewery for M-43, weâre a big fan of some of their more classic styles.
Old Nationâs interpretation of an âItalianâ pilsner with an additional dry-hopping step. This step brings out the herbal, earthy aromas of the hops without imparting any bitterness, and truly adds another dimension to our take on the classic beer style!

Presenting the one and only Frederiksdal KirsebĂŠrvin demijohn in the state of Ohio. Danish cherry wine is now available by the glass Buckeye Beer Engine
The French term âsur lieâ means that wine is left to rest on its sediment, or residual yeast particles, for an extended period. The method of allowing wine to be in contact with the spent yeast is primarily one used in the French province of Champagne. It produces a richer and deeper tasting wine. Our Sur Lie is aged in French oak barrels and is the result of an amalgamation of 2-3 different vintages. The amalgamation of mature and young vintages lends this wine a further degree of complexity: the younger vintages provide fresh and subtle fruity notes, while the mature ones provide more complex tones.
The prefect beverage to pair with a meal, conclude a good meal, or drink just because itâs delicious.

Burger of the Month for June: the Smokinberry. Our signature third-pound, chargrilled Ohio beef patty topped with applewood smoked bacon, house-made roasted pork, smoked Gouda, arugula, and drizzled with a blueberry BBQ sauce. đ

Patio beers at Buckeye Beer Engine this weekend? Yes, please. Looks like the weather is finally going to break. Our beer list is lightening up to accommodate. House-made hard seltzers also available for those who donât like beerâŠyet.

We will be closed on Monday, May 29th in observance of Memorial Day.
Open regular hours this weekend and back to business as usual on Tuesday, May 30th for $12 Burger & Beer Night. đșđž

Perfection in a glass. Introducing the perfect patio beer: Allagash Brewing Company & Brasserie de la Senne Zennegash.
Brewed in Belgium, this is a collab with our friends of Allagash Brewing Company from Portland, Maine. Little side note: the first ever collab we did was with them in 2011: the Very SpĂ©ciale Belge. We didnât have to look far to find a name for the beer. We simply combined the two rivers we both owe our names to: the Allagash river, and our good old Zenne! This time we brewed a wheat beer (the specialty of Allagash!), dry hopped with both American and European hops. We made two versions: one bottled version, refermented with Brett-yeast, and one clean version in kegs.
This is the closest we can get to Allagash White until we can convince one of Americaâs greatest breweries to come back to the Buckeye State. Câmon Emily Erler!!! đđ»

And we have a winner! Thanks to everyone for coming out to The Genesee Brewery Ruby Red Kolsch night at Buckeye Beer Engine. Donât forget, pints are only $3 during happy hour while we have it on draft! đ»
