I really miss doing what I love to do.
Maybe in my next life?

It was a good day, this last Sunday when I dropped off my latest creation for my latest Client and D&D player Kevin.
It was also a day when their group was together and playing some Dungeons and Dragons at the world-famous Brat Stop in Kenosha, Wis.

Kevin seemed pretty elated about it, when he saw it. I think?
Honestly, I was expecting more of a wild, giddy, and crazy kinda expression from him.
The kind of wild expressiveness that gets other people in the restaurant to call 911 for a crazy person at table 7, who won't stop screaming "OMG OMG! I love it love it love it!" (I'm hoping Kevin has a sense of humor with that part. ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜)

The coolest part about my experience was that it was my first in-person watching of an actual game in play.
They were all kind enough to let me stand around and watch for a while as they all went on their quest together. Thank you, guys and gals!

Before my first build, for my friend Brian, I didn't know jack s**t about the game. I knew of it, but never got into it or played it for that matter.
The more that I learn about it, the more I'm actually starting to dig it. There is so much to it!
I was invited to actually sit down at some point and get into an actual game. I might take em up on it at some point.

Anyway....I didn't get to take more detailed pictures of my creation, but Kevin said that he will post pics of it in action at Wednesday's game night.
Another unique project that I thoroughly enjoyed creating, once again.
This one had similar, but totally different details to it.
The sides were made to look like Castle Battlements and also used as ventilation for the heat that comes from the television set inside the frame. (Very important. Heat bad.)
There are images of dice, the most dreaded monster, Tarrasque and other rustic elements to it all. I loved creating it.

Love what you do, and it will love you back.

If there's anybody you know who might like one of these custom made for them, message me here.
The D&D theme isn't a limitation either. I'm sure there are other games that are played with this format, as well. I hope there are, because I didn't bother googling it before posting this. ๐Ÿคช

D&D Part Deux delivery today. ๐Ÿ’… ๐Ÿซฆ ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Omg! What a great idea!

Stage 1 of D&D project part deux.
It's the most boring looking stage. ๐Ÿคช

In search of 2 used/scrap or trashed guitar necks for a new coffee table project.

Acoustic or electric. Doesn't matter.

Let me know.
Thanks in reverse.

"Dungeons and Dragons" project number 2 has begun!

Stay tuned. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Always a good time revisiting projects I've done for people. โค๏ธ it. Good to see it's still being used too. ๐Ÿ˜Š
Thanks Brian!
New D&D project coming up!

At the storage locker.
There's so many t-shirts and hoodies that I never sold.
I don't know why I got so many back then.
I thought maybe they'd sell better than they did.
Oh well.
I should have a fire sale just to get rid of them. Lol

Some super cool, jaw dropping stuff here!
I'm really hoping I get back to it this year. ๐Ÿ™

I still need to carve one of these. ๐Ÿคฃ

It's always cool when a friend sends you a random text message like this! ๐Ÿ˜Š
It helps keep me on that positive path toward.... whatever it is I'm doing lately. Still trying to figure that out. ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคช

Thanks Jocelyn! ๐Ÿ˜Š

So I think I want to build one.
I really, really do!
It's a 2 in 1 package! ๐Ÿ˜†

What y'all think? ๐Ÿค”

Developed by designer William Warren
in Maine.
A custom bookshelf that transforms into a coffin (when you need it)

I think it's pretty cool.

So I was contacted by a friend who's a big Dungeons & Dragon's player.
He tells me that he bought a small tv and sent me some pictures of a D&D tv game board.
He asked if I could build a case around his tv like in the pictures he sent me.

S**t. It's been a long ass since I've been able to do a custom project for someone.
I said "hell yeah!", and jumped right on the opportunity.

I picked up the tv, brought it home and said to myself, "how in the hell am I gonna do this!?"
I had no clue!

It took some MacGyver brainstorming, but I finally figured out how to keep the tv in place within the frame.

I had to dive into the D&D world for some research, ideas etc.
I learned a lot about a game that I've never played before, too.

I think it turned out pretty cool, and I had a great time building it.

Trivia tidbit for those of you who didn't know:

Dungeons and Dragon's was founded and created in Lake Geneva, WI. There's even a D&D museum too. I've driven by it dozens of times already and didn't even know it. Lol

Pretty freakin cool!

Feels good to be back, even if it's a short lived return for the time being. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Still looking for some shop space.

I'd like to give a big shout out to those of you who have tossed me tips on possible places, people to call and places to check out..
It's much appreciated. Any help, no matter how little it seems, really means the most.
You know who you are.
Thank you!

Some properties I've seen are above my initial budget.
I toured a property last week that probably should have been condemned too. ๐Ÿ˜ณ
Funny story to tell there.

I have another place to look at in Bristol, Wi sometime this week. Fingers crossed.

In the meantime, I've been looking at ideas for my laser cutter.

I found this one today and I both died laughing and also screamed out "Omg that's F'n genius!"

I will definitely make these!
Who wants a set?! ๐Ÿ˜

I'm currently looking for workshop space on my own.
Southeast/Southwest Wisconsin area to rent.
800-1000 sq ft. Climate controlled a plus.

Industrial park, a garage that someone isn't using and willing to rent out, spare pole barn space etc etc

I'm currently in the Walworth County area.

Thanks in advance for any ideas, leads or suggestions.

Feel free to message me or post on here.

A little creative shelf build with that custom Blacksheep touch.

One stair tread (pine).
I chose the stair tread because it was thick, cheaper than select pine, and already has a rounded edge for the front.

Assorted black iron pipe pieces for 2 of the 3 shelves - 1/2"

I cut the stair tread into 3 pieces.
2 longer pieces and 1 shorter one.
Stained them and once dry, they were ready for assembly.

The depth is a hefty 11.5" on the tread, but they can be cut to any desired depth of course.

I used 12" pipes for the height to put taller items on, but you can use shorter ones if you just want a mini display shelf. It's all interchangeable even after it's built if you change your mind later on the look you want. The possibilities are endless.

The shelf pipe support can also be reversed to sit underneath for just a shelf and no pipe book ends.

I think they came out pretty cool looking.
I don't own many books either as you can tell. ๐Ÿ˜

Life is good when you create.

Of course.... if you're interested, you can always contact me for a quote. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Thanks for being here.

A cool laser engraving idea.
What ya all think?

Thanks Kat!

Been a while.
I really miss creating!
It brings me sanity and well... happiness making things for people. Things haven't been in the cards at the start of this year, but there is hope on the horizon for possibly this summer! Fingers crossed.

Mr. Blacksheep ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I recently made this for a friend.
Nothing complicated. Raised letters and distressed paint job.
It's based on those trendy little porch signs everybody has that typically say "Welcome" or something nice.

He told me that he wanted it to say "Go away". ๐Ÿคฃ
It was his sense of humor inspired to make it.

It was a simple project, but it brought back that rewarding feeling ya get when you make something unique for someone.

A few things have yet to be arranged on the business side here. My new equipment is apparently parked on a boat somewhere awaiting extradition. ๐Ÿ™„

Peace out.

Photos from Blacksheep Woodworks LLC's post 08/18/2021

It's not an officially sanctioned Blacksheep job, but I got the wood plank wall finished along with some new panel blinds.
I was going for that rustic with a touch of modern look to it.
There's still some touch up work to finish on this, but it's pretty much done.

It's been a while.

Mr. Blacksheep here.

Hope you didn't forget me. If you did, that's ok. I understand. ๐Ÿ˜†

I moved out of the wonderful Land of Lincoln and way up north, just across the border. (That's supposed to be punny)

I apologize for the absence and I've seriously missed you all. "Most" of you anyway. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'm still trying to get settled in here and find a place where I can set up a workshop.
In layman's terms. .. I'm still looking for a place to move all my "crap" into. ๐Ÿ˜

There's some exciting new things on the horizon and plenty of new creative ideas crammed into the 'idea book'.
Custom laser engraving will be a big focus in this new endeavor.
I'm also thinking of rebranding not only the business name, but the variety of products and services offered as well.
More on that at a future date.

Heading back on track soon!

550.00 obo

Blacksheep will be officially closing its doors.

This may be a temporary closing, but I won't know for sure just yet.
As most of you know, I operate this business from my home.
I've recently sold my home and have no place to go that will allow me to continue my operation.
I love doing this too much for it to be permanent, so let's hang on that little string of hope for now.

My garage has a storied history.
From Man cave, to bike shop, to poker room to wood shop and everything inbetween. It's seen love, It's seen frustration and even some major drama. Most of has been a plethora of collected memories that I will always cherish.

Thank you to everybody that has kept me going along these last several years. You've all inspired me and challenged me in so many ways. I've taken on projects that I never dreamed of taking on and completed them.
Having the advice and knowledge of good friends by my side at times has always been a blessing.

I've got a few small projects to finish and then we're done.

I have a ton of work to get done by myself.

I'll be posting things for sale when I can.
There's a 12" Dewalt planer with mobile stand.
A 24" x 24" CNC machine with all the fixings.
A variety of Tools (maybe)
A bunch of scrap wood and various creative things.
Whatever doesn't sell will either go into storage, garbage or just be donated somewhere.

Thank you everyone for your continued support.

It's been a real pleasure.

A little Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute piece that I did.

Photos from Blacksheep Woodworks LLC's post 02/06/2021

This is a little something that I finished for a client recently.
The first 2 pictures on top are what he sent me.
The others is what Mr. Blacksheep rendered into existence.
Turned out pretty cool.
