five years!
five crazy but amazing years!
God is truly so good!

a week ago today we had our five-year anniversary from when olive grace officially opened! i honestly can’t even believe the day passed, and i didn’t even realize it; but that’s what owning a business does! it’s a busy and wild life, but i wouldn’t change it for anything.

i can remember that the first few months were like the first months of a relationship…
everything was so new, exciting, and so freeing.
there was so much opportunity and so many new things to discover and learn. i will always remember that first year as such a sweet time.

i thought there would be a point where i’d be like, “okay this is it! i’ve learned it all and nothing more is changing,” but as we all know, that really is never going to be the case. hahaha!

we have accomplished so much as a team these last five years, more than i’ve experienced in my whole career!
growing, crying, laughing, encouraging, stretching, being pushed out of our comfort zones — SO MANY EMOTIONS.
but that’s life, and the team at olive grace is seriously something special.

with a second location coming along, this truly is JUST the beginning and I am HERE FOR IT!

how hot should my curling iron be?

• use a heat protectant, they really do make a difference. see today’s stories for our product suggestions!

• if you have fine hair, set your iron between 200° - 280°.

• if you have medium to coarse hair, set your iron between 300° to 350°.

• if you start to notice your ends feel dry, turn down the temperature on your iron.

in all seriousness, though, have you ever noticed how few •natural• redhead inspiration photos there are online?!?

@hairbyjessmitch knew her guest was looking for a change but was also wanting to bring it back to her natural || low-maintenance || color.

when they searched for red hair inspo, everything they found was either red highlighted blonde or a dark root with red ends.

sooooooo…
they put their heads together and came up with their own solution!
they added two different lowlights of red tones — covering up her previous blonde but also keeping her natural red very dimensional.

moral of the story?
just because you can’t find •exactly• what you want in photos online, don’t assume it isn’t possible.
we’re professionals.
