We want to thank our 2023 summer Intern Lily Prabhakar for all her hard work over the past 3 months! We took a last day field trip to one of our favorite projects that is starting demolition to see it come to life. This year in addition to architecture and design, she also gained experience in client relations, business development, and I showed her how to bake cookies!
...(Just kidding, shes an amazing baker!)...

The Pool House. Featuring a fully functional kitchen, full bathroom, and additonal seating, our approach was to take pressure off the Main House by increasing its overall utility. Focus on the function first, allowing the decorative elements to puncuate the design.

REALLY excited about this discovery! Thank you 1970's remodelers for taking the more cost effective route of covering and not removing original building elements. Now it's time to restore.

Before/ After!

Were wrapping up the construction documents on this Renovation and Addition project in Delavan, WI. The project includes adding two Master Suites, A Great Room, and an additional garage bay as well as re-configuring most of the existing space.

Were looking forward to seeing the project take shape!

Renderings of an exciting new residential project starting this fall! 5,522 SF of finished area. 6 bed, 4.5 bath with water views! Radiant heat in the basement floor and R-27 walls. Fantastic energy efficiency!

Energy Efficiency pays! Utilizing products and construction details that minimize thermal bridging creates residual cost savings. Thermal bridging is when wall/ floor/ roof components touch both the interior (conditioned area) and the exterior, transferring the hot/ cold temperatures to the interior of the home.

In my own home constructed in 2019, ComEd's monthly energy efficiency report compares us to the closest 80 neighboring homes. We are located near a neighborhood of smaller homes and we don't sacrifice summer air conditioning temperatures (74 during the day, 68 at night). Month after month were rated more efficient than our most efficient neighbors. (9% more efficient this month). In other words, larger area but less utility cost.

The savings is a direct result of quality built construction paired with design details to minimize thermal bridging.

Classic white shake on the turret...couldn't resist the inherent charm of the material, and the way it subtlety highlights the shape of the home. More from this exciting lakeside original coming soon!

Please take a second and welcome our summer Intern Lily Prabhakar! She will be working as our Architectural Designer until returning to school this fall. She is a very talented and bright individual with a keen eye for good design.

Lily has been interested in becoming an Architect since she was about 8 years old. As a graduate of Rockford Christian High School, she served on Mayor of Rockford's Youth Council Board. She is also involved in One Love International that helps provide access to life saving medical care for children of Uganda.

Currently, Lily is a third year student at University of Tennessee Knoxville working on her bachelor’s of Interior Architecture. With a love for good design and a drive to become a Licensed Design Professional, welcome aboard!

The Mission: disassemble this fantastic 1917 barn piece by piece, move it 50 miles, rebuild it on a new foundation. A very cool project to breath new life for a new purpose for the next 100 years.

For the last year or so, we've been working on one of the largest renovation projects on Lake Geneva. We're proud to be a part of a great team devoted to style, design, and fine craftsmanship. Looking forward to seeing the project come to life. Stay tuned....
