An exceptional and versatile guitarist whose sound bridges classic country authenticity with driving rock ’n’ roll energy.

Influenced heavily by Chris LeDoux, Rick embraces the same rodeo-born rock spirit—fearless, honest, and built for the stage.

In addition to his work as a musician, Rick is a respected and influential executive in the music industry, serving as Global Sales and Marketing Director for Eminence Speakers. Prior to Eminence, he spent more than 20 years with the iconic Celestion Speakers, where he worked closely with legendary artists including Eddie Van Halen, Brad Paisley, and numerous others.

Throughout his personal music career, Rick has achieved multiple radio charting songs across various projects and has performed on stages nationwide.

He has opened for an impressive roster of iconic country artists, including Tracy Byrd, Neil McCoy, Charlie Daniels, Mark Chesnutt, Robert Earl Keen, Pat Green, and many others.

Whether onstage or behind the scenes, Rick Skillman brings decades of experience, credibility, and passion to every note he has played and will deliver in THE RISE!

*Marlin “BLUE” Dodson*

A rhythm guitarist that brings many years of heart pounding, foot stopping, experience to the stage!

Born and raised in Texas, a self taught guitarist and playing since 12 years old!

Blue likes playing all kinds of music, but Red Dirt Country, Progressive and Traditional Country are the go to when it’s time to dig deep and talk roots!

Blue has been in several bands over the yesterdays, and his favorite place is on stage bringing joy and entertainment!

He has played dives to dance halls. Rodeos to big corp private parties!

Another passion is collecting guitars and all kinds of musical instruments.

Blue is semi-retired but still loves working a couple of days a week as an Optician. He has been married to his beautiful wife Stephanie for 10 years.

Blue and RAB go way back like a good glue that just sticks! They have many stories to tell and many more to make!

Blue is looking forward to playing shows, seeing you, and bringing his best to the RISE!

*Carissa Powell*

Born and raised in Georgetown, Texas, Carissa has been chasing loud guitars and real stories since picking up her first at just three years old. A self-taught guitarist and drummer, she mastered both instruments by fifteen, and laying the foundation for a sound rooted in raw honesty and hard-earned grit.

Influenced by Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryde, Bonnie Raitt, Shania Twain, and Janis Joplin, Carissa blends country storytelling with a blues-soaked edge—equal parts heart, heat, and horsepower.

With over a decade of professional experience, she’s shared stages with a wide range of musicians across the greater Central Texas area, including performances at the Austin Rodeo, Central Texas Speedway, as well as historic dancehalls like The Cotton Country Club and Bo’s Barn & Dancehall to name a few!

Now based in Jarrell, Texas, Carissa balances motherhood and a career in healthcare while delivering high-energy live performances as a powerhouse artist who brings everything on the stage—making music that’s loud, honest, and unapologetically real, and ready for the RISING!

Bringing a DEEP WELL of experience and musical versatility to the band’s unmistakable sound.

A fixture in the Austin music scene since 1999, David has spent decades playing stages across Central Texas and beyond, performing in bands that span rock, indie, and alternative genres.

A true multi‑instrumentalist, David’s musical roots run wide—from outlaw country grit, to classical guitar precision, to the iconic tones of ’80s British alternative.

His eclectic background gives his bass playing a melodic, driving character that anchors the band’s energy while adding subtle color and texture.

After spending a few years living and playing in the Bay Area, David returned home to Austin in 2015 with a renewed appreciation for his country roots.

That return marked a new chapter—one where his diverse influences seamlessly blend into the infectious country, southern rock, alternative, red dirt, classic, and brand new sound of—RAB and the Rising!
