PRESS RELEASE: Mother Nature Wins Again as Rain Forces a Night #2 Cancellation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Shippenville, PA (Jun 3, 2021) – Thunder Mountain Speedway has been forced to cancel tonight’s race, dubbed “Round #2” of the 2021 Western PA Speedweek slate, due to inclement weather. Heavy rains hit the Brookville, PA speedway just before noon, and with more in the forecast the track was beyond recovery. The event will not be made up.

We once again are forced to look ahead as beautiful weather awaits the ‘410’ Sprint Cars for each of the remaining three events: Fri, June 4th at Lernerville Speedway; Sat, June 5th at Sharon Speedway; and Sun June 6th at Tri-City Raceway Park.

Saturday night’s race at Sharon Speedway will now be paying $3,500 to-win and $300 to start. Thanks go out to Shaun Krill and Krill Recycling, LLC for the purse boost that now makes this the highest paying race of speedweek! Please make sure to visit Krill Recycling in Fenelton, PA for all of your scrap and recycling needs. For more info you can visit them online at https://krillrecycling.com/. Friday and Sunday’s shows remain as scheduled with the original $3,000 to-win, $250 to-start purse.

In addition, the full speedweek points fund not only remains in tact, but has actually increased. Our good friends at The A-Main Podcast and Blanket Hill Speedway have chipped in to add an extra $100 to the 6th spot in points. Full points fund as follows:

3. $1000
4. $750
5. $500
6. $350
7-10. $250

Furthermore, our unique bonus structure will allow the Knox Bakery quick time award and Rustler Sales & Service hard charger award to INCREASE as well. Wedgemotorsports has also put up an additional $100 hard luck award to be presented each night.

Not to be forgotten, each of our loyalty programs will still be in tact. One free RR Hoosier tire will be given away each night at the driver’s meeting. Sharon Speedway will also be awarding 4 free pit passes to the Lou Blaney Memorial following speedweek to one driver that has perfect attendance. Last but certainly not least, Alternative Power Sources will be awarding a Yamaha pressure washer Sunday night to a randomly selected driver with perfect attendance.
