🚨 FLORIDA E-RIDERS NEWS 🚨

After reviewing the final version of CS/SB 382, E-Riders Poinciana Florida can confirm that the new law primarily affects E-Bikes and is scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2026.

Key changes include:

✅ E-Bikes must slow down to 10 MPH when pedestrians are within 50 feet on sidewalks and pedestrian areas.

✅ Riders must yield to pedestrians and give an audible signal before passing on shared paths.

✅ Violations are considered nonmoving traffic citations.

✅ The proposal requiring a driver’s license for Class 3 E-Bikes was removed from the bill.

✅ Florida will begin collecting crash data involving micromobility devices, and a new Micromobility Device Safety Task Force will study future recommendations for E-Bikes, scooters, and other devices.

At this time, SB 382 does not create new restrictions specifically for electric scooters.
