Meet the incredible founder behind For Love and Compassion Sanctuary and Rescue 💚 In November 2018, Wilma rescued her very first pig, Mister Wilmer, from a private slaughterhouse. What began as saving one life quickly became a lifelong mission. After seeing firsthand how intelligent, emotional, and loving pigs truly are, she dedicated herself to learning everything she could and never looked back. For the past 8½ years, Wilma has worked tirelessly rescuing, fostering, transporting, and helping place pigs into loving homes across Florida and even as far as North Carolina. Along the way, she has also rescued countless other animals including cats, dogs, goats, turtles, rabbits, chickens, a calf named Fernando, and even a sugar glider. Her compassion and dedication embody what sanctuary work is truly about: giving animals a second chance at life 💫 This month on the 24th, our team will be heading out to volunteer and support the sanctuary.
