Important!

After a lot of thought, we have decided to cancel the cornhole tournament for this weekend. As the cases steadily increase in our town, we know this is the best decision to keep our community safe.

We will reevaluate when our next one will be.

We send prayers to everyone in the community who is battling this sickness, and to the ones who have lost family members and friends over it.

We will get through these unknown times together.

After a lot of back and forth, we have made the hard decision to not open this year.

We are saddened by not being able to open, but please understand that we cannot safely do so without putting our most vulnerable at risk as we have people of all ages and health backgrounds that come through our haunt and volunteer their time that has always made this possible.

Our haunt is our biggest fundraiser of the year, so while we know some will be upset about us not opening this year, please know this decision was looked at at every angle to ensure the safety of our community.

We hope you understand our decision during these uncertain times, and we are looking forward to when things are back to normal to feel comfortable reopening again.

We will be announcing other fundraisers on our page - Keysville Vol. Fire Department - that we can safety put on, so please check there to stay updated on how you can support our department.

The Situation continues to get worse by the hour. You may have noticed over central and eastern Virginia the sun is coming out which is causing the atmosphere become more unstable.

high resolution short range models continue to show increasingly unstable atmosphere especially over central Virginia into central Maryland and to a lesser degree into South Central Pennsylvania and North Carolina.

For this reason this Storm Prediction Center has increased the high winds threat for the entire area with winds now expected reach up to 75 miles an hour in gusts. Over the blue ridge areas winds may reach 85-90mph.... !!!!!

In addition they have upgraded the TORNADO threat significantly to 10% which means that 10% of all the Thunder storms with in this area will see a TORNADO within 25 miles of any one particular location. This is a significant increase in the threat.

This means that you can expect to power loss possibly for several hours and maybe up for 24 hours. Trees could go down and even large trees. If you have outdoor furniture or Halloween stuff you need to take it inside before the main event hits.

Tornado watches and warnings are likely to go out very shortly across most of Virginia North Carolina Maryland.
