Project Perseverance Day: 93
2135/10,000 miles

🌹Rose: Getting into Silver City was a big reward after a 12 mile highway walk and the nothingness that was in Lordsburg. Real food, real bed, real shower and laundry.

🌱Bud: Looking forward to hiking out tomorrow with my new treats from Bowl & Kettle and UnTapped!

⛈️Thorn: Starting the day low on water was the low of the day for sure. I like to as I call it “nighttime chug”, and drink throughout the night and I couldn’t. So it was a bummer!

If you’re new here this isn’t just a hike,it’s a year-long act of perseverance, healing, and showing up anyway.

Project Perseverance Day: 92
2114 / 10,000 miles

🌹Rose: Encouraging myself to enjoy chicken packets again was a full time job. But for some reason I have decided I needed to get over it and today I conquered that.

🌱Bud: I’m loving how diverse New Mexico is and cannot wait to see more of the landscape changing.

⛈️Thorn: The worst part about long water carries and caches is that the water is always warm and tastes like plastic, 😩

Project Perseverance Day: 91
2088 / 10,000 miles

🌹Rose: The CDT is really teaching me to appreciate the simple things—a trail marker, water, shade, the wildflowers.

🌱Bud: Tomorrow I dive into some chicken packet life… stay tuned.

⛈️Thorn: Honestly… no thorn today. We got trail magic and I have no complaints!

Project Perseverance Day: 90
2064 / 10,000 miles

🌹Rose: The hike out of Lordsburg is known for being dry and a slog, however I found it quite lovely. The sunset as we hiked out was mixed with moody clouds and the sound of coyotes.

🌱Bud: I’m excited to get this big dry stretch over with.

⛈️Thorn: The resupply haul was chaos. At this point I’m pretty sick of hiker food and was underwhelmed at the Dollar General.

Project Perseverance Day: 89
2048 / 10,000 miles

🌹Rose: The tank water sources were actually really nice. The CDT is known for its horrible water but early season these were liquid gold!

🌱Bud: Tomorrow is my first CDT trail town! Wahoo!

⛈️Thorn: I didn’t make the 39.5 miles but still hit 30. Lordsburg shall wait and so will McDonalds.

Project Perseverance Day: 88
2019 / 10,000 miles

🌹Rose: After a great nights rest I really felt tuned into the CDT. The rough navigating, the water caches, the desert was bringing me back to a state of feeling grounded.

🌱Bud: Hiking around someone so soon on the CDT felt exciting. I was really mentally ready to just be alone.

⛈️Thorn: Sleeping for 11 hours wasn’t really great for miles BUT it did wonders for my recovery. It’s tough out here.

Project Perseverance Day: 87
1992 / 10,000 miles

🌹Rose: Starting the CDT was cathartic for me. After not being able to attempt it in 2023 due to my abuser it felt empowering to show up at this monument solo and during the middle of such a huge hiking project.

🌱Bud: Getting to walk through New Mexico also connects me to my grandmothers roots. After this year I will have hiked through all the places that were important to my grandparents and that feels special.

⛈️Thorn: As I walked away from the monument all of the “did I do the right thing” voices started creeping in. Thankfully this year is teaching me to silence them and listen to my gut. Gut said CDT so here I am.

Hey Humans! I wanted to share a real-time trail update because the journey has gotten a little ahead of the videos.

Today is Day 154 of Project Perseverance, and I’m currently on the PCT heading toward the Sierra.

I’m over 3,000+ miles deep into this adventure.

Thats three thousand miles since leaving Key West on January 1st.

Since then, I’ve crossed Florida swamps, endless road walks, hiked part of the Appalachian Trail, was the first NOBO CDT hiker through New Mexico, and completed the desert of the PCT.

With the deserts of this year officially behind me I’m feeling strong, and honestly healthy too.

There are still mornings when the thought of another 30-mile day feels daunting, but every day I lace up my shoes and keep moving. That’s become one of the biggest lessons of this project: big goals aren’t achieved through giant heroic moments. They’re built through thousands of small decisions to keep going.

People often ask how I manage the hiking, filming, editing, posting, planning, and everything else that comes with sharing a journey like this. The truth is that some days the miles come first. Most days, I’m simply doing my best to balance both.

But I’m still out here.

Still walking.

Still chasing this wild dream.

As I head toward the Sierra, I’m feeling grateful, excited, and incredibly lucky to experience all of this alongside such an amazing community.

The videos may be a little behind, but the miles are very real.

Project Perseverance Day: 82-86
1971 / 10,000 miles

🌹Rose: So many things to be thankful for. Karen & Dave for hosting me while I healed, Yardsale for picking my butt up from the airport. The support is what makes this project possible. Thanks you guys 🫶🏼

🌱Bud: Tomorrow I start hiking the Continental Divide Trail which feels important, special and something I’ve been waiting for for a very long time.

⛈️Thorn: Leaving the AT was hard, but this was sort of always my plan. The alignment of time off my feet and transitioning trails seems to give me hope that things would indeed be okay. Time off = anxiety.

Project Perseverance Day: 81
1971 / 10,000 miles

🌹Rose: The tree sodas were a game changer. Unexpected and random trail magic is some of my favorite.

🌱Bud: Staying with Karen & Dave is going to be a special treat! I’m excited for see the farm and have a home cooked meal.

⛈️Thorn: The pain in my foot is growing daily and it’s getting to a point where I am concerned and I hate that anxiety.
