So I was just shouting you out to someone asking about great independent bookshops. I went to your website. I saw the merchandise. I saw the shirts. I saw the baseball 3/4 shirt. Just like that, my attempt at going minimal and wearing only solid color shirts, no brands or logos, died. It was a great run. I have adjusted my rules to now include supporting great local businesses by wearing their logos or brands.
Are you still doing curbside pickup? Can we place orders for pickup in the store if it is not currently in stock?
My dear friend A j Verdelle is on USA Today’s list of 100 Black Writers to read. Her novel, The Good Negress, is well worth it. Awesome list to peruse and then purchase through our amazing Kew and Willow Books!

Hi Kew & Willow! You might want to post about your Indie Bookstore Day to the Kew Gardens-Briarwood Patch -- the community events section. I shared your post on the Patch's FB page and they responded with this suggestion.
Hi Vina and everybody and Kew & Willow! Question...I was wondering if it would be possible to have a virtual poetry club group? Miss everyone!
My books arrived today and Morris and I are looking forward to a weekend of reading and snuggles. Thanks Kew and Willow Books! #shoplocal
How I feel everytime I walk into Kew and Willow
Do you have a book club starting soon?
Would anyone have a copy of The Suzie Brown Intervention Maze by John Shepard? Thanks.
Enjoy New Mexico and say "Hello" to Bookworks!

Explaining to our little ones the tragedy that happened 20 years ago can be daunting, to say the least. The Survivor Tree by Marcie Colleen is a sensitive and accessible entry point.

A hopeful story of a resilient tree that grew (and still grows) at the base of the twin towers. It reflects the book’s dedication: ‘May peace and hope grow from the darkest of our days.’ ❤️ #neverforget

Let’s Clean Up by Katie Cadamatre is our #fridayfavorite! This board book can be enjoyed by everyone, whether you are a native Korean speaker, on the rusty side, or a first-time reader! It features practical language, bright imagery, and simple dialogues to help teach useful phrases that are easy to apply day to day.

Katie decided to create this book after becoming a mom and wanting to share Korean with her son ❤️ She accomplished this with a Kickstarter (just like us!)

We have copies in-store, so come by. We will be here for Memorial Day weekend by the way!

Photos from Kew and Willow Books's post 05/27/2021

Pages is making a comeback to let you know at our bookshop MASKS ARE STILL REQUIRED. Yes, we’ve seen the CDC announcement, and no they haven’t told us how, as a small business, we could possibly enforce and verify that everyone that walks in is vaccinated.

We’ve already had a customer being lax about their mask and it’s only the day after. So please, respect the rules of the shop and the safety of those around you - wear a mask!

Our community is so sweet and we love when ideas are brought to us to continue to be an inclusive shop! A beloved customer approached us to start a pay-it-forward basket (inspired by @secondstartotherightbooks) with pre-purchased books by our community to give away to youth who can't access books with LGBTQ+ characters.

How it works? Anyone can stop by the store and take a book from this basket, no questions asked.

How to donate? Place an order on our website or stop by the store, and we will add the purchased book to our LGBTQ+ basket!
