This October, we're returning to make filmmaker Emilio Miguel Torres' debut feature film THE LADDER. Based on the acclaimed short film from 2021, this full-length story delves even deeper into the world of "The Fresh Start."

The best part? We're looking for YOU to be a part of this journey! We are hosting a casting call for actors of all experience levels, aiming to fill a range of roles with actors of this community! We're collaborating with First City Players to ensure we make a meaningful effort to cast and feature a local cast. This is a paid acting opportunity.

As the year draws to an end Jim and I want to thank all of the fantastic people who chose to spend part of their Alaska vacation with us.
At the beginning of the summer we had thought that 2021 might be the last year we would keep the Black Bear Inn open but by the end of September we agreed that
we just could not close. Our guests are just so special. So instead, we decided it was time to build on to the Bunkhouse cabin and get ready for next summer at the Inn.
When it reopens it will be a 1,200 square foot Vacation Home. We are adding a full kitchen and a spacious living room with a great sundeck overlooking the water. It will open for guests in July of 2022.
I will start posting pictures of our progress in the spring. The new Bunkhouse will accommodate 1 to 4 guests. If you have questions or are interested in booking in 2022 please give me a call.
