Pavilion reservations are available, the Trout Rodeo is returning to the park on Saturday, April 30th, pickle ball nets have been delivered, the trails are being prepped for the Kennett Run, and plans are underway for an amazing summer concert series. The Kennett Area Park Authority is seeking a full-time Park Groundskeeper for work in Anson B. Nixon Park. The Park Groundskeeper would be responsible to perform duties that include, but are not limited to, grass-mowing, trimming, trail maintenance, pavilion upkeep, playground upkeep, trash removal, mulching, cleaning the restrooms, assistance with parking and other concert related needs, pavilion set-up for private events, and other assorted tasks and special projects as required by the volunteer board of the Kennett Area Park Authority and Park Maintenance Supervisor. The qualified applicant will demonstrate an understanding of the safe operation of mowing equipment and power tools, and communicate effectively with park visitors. Bilingual skills are preferred but not required. A low-stress working environment in beautiful Anson B. Anson B Nixon Park located in Kennett Square is looking to hire an individual to assist in park maintenance. Tasks include grass-mowing, weedeating, trash removal, mulching, pavilion set-up, cleaning and other assorted tasks directed by the volunteers at the Kennett Area Park Authority and Park Maintenance Supervisor. Applicant would need to be able to operate power equipment safely as well as communicate effectively with park visitors. Bilingual preferred but not required. Hours would be flexible and between 30-40hrs per week. Starting compensation from $14-$16/HR. [Email hidden]

In Anson B. Nixon Park, you can go for a jog, take a leisurely walk, enjoy bird watching, or fish in the ponds. Play a round of disc golf, tennis, pickle ball, basketball, or volleyball. Let the dogs run in one of two dog parks, and let the kids run on one of three playgrounds. Enjoy a free concert on the lawn, rent a pavilion for special events or a weekend barbecue – and so much more! Your generous contribution will allow us to continue the important work of restoring open green space and maintaining amenities and facilities in the park – for the benefit of all.

Work is underway on the athletic playing fields today! Thanks to the Borough of Kennett Square and the E. Kneale Dockstader foundation, the fields will be revitalized and ready for game play next spring!
