My client has a gorgeous pale pink sequined 3 layer gown with a train. She wanted to keep the train but of course the gown itself needed to be shortened. I cut and hemmed all 3 layers by 3”, to be just above the floor in the front and she will still have her train. The bodice needed to be expanded to lay nicely in the front and back. I opened the seams and enlarged the tiny side panels of toile from 3.5” to 7”. This way it retains the integrity of design while giving it the look of being “open” sided” and allows the back panels to lay smoothly. I’m looking forward to pictures of seeing her wearing it at her function!😍💕😍💕

My client is a tiny young woman. I needed to cut half the gown away! Once I did, I hand stitched this whole thing: 6” in all the way around, removed a 24” train, and created a matching clutch purse with the remaining fabric! She is going to look absolutely gorgeous, and I will post her pictures once she attends her function! She’s going to be the belle of the ball! 💕💕💕😍😊👍🏻

My client has 8 dresses that she wants to take on an upcoming trip. She’s a tiny woman, all all of the dresses needed to be cut and hemmed approximately 3”. The one with the rhinestones needed to be hand stitched. They all turned out lovely and I hope to see vabcation pictures of her wearing them! 😊

Boy have I been slacking with the pictures! My client had a bolt of this fabric and a bolt of white for the lining. She asked me to create 4 lined valances of varying width for her bedroom and sitting room. They were then stapled to a board, which lay on an “L” shaped bracket to hold up the curtain. They turned out lovely and it also gave me the idea of doing this for my own home! 😊

These heavy coarse fabric fully lined drapes needed just a few inches cut off. They were 105” and needs to be 98”. Once I finished, it was next to impossible to tell that they had been altered. 😊 you can. See them hanging up in Calico Corners!

These heavy satin brocade fully lined drapes need 7” cut off of both layers. To be the perfect fit for the window! Each panel was 120” and ide so it was a lot of sewing. They turned out perfectly and I’m waiting on a pictures frost my client! 😊

An elegant and timeless satin gown. Needed to be cut and hemmed and the train removed. I suggested to
My client that I make a matching clutch purse for the wedding day. Everything turned out lovely and my
Client looks like a princess in her gown! I can’t wait to see a picture of her at the wedding!!! 😍😍

Last weekend all simple repairs. A purse needed a “ringlet” sewn back on. A pair of shorts needed a hem restitched. A set of sheer curtains needed a hem. A pair of jeans needed a hem. A pair of suit pants needed a hem. All went well and everyone was happy with the service and the price. Let me know if you need any repairs or alterations done!! 😊

A little while ago, my client brought me four brand new curtain panels that needed the rod pocket to be made bigger. I ripped the seams, and lengthened the rod pocket from1.5” to 2.5”. No one would ever know they’d been altered! Her family
Liked them so much that she brought me 8 more panels that needed the same thing! There were two very long sets(4 panels) , two medium Sets, and two short sets. I finished them and she picked them up yesterday. I am really hoping to see a picture of all of these curtains hanging in her home!! 😍😍

My client’s giant tote bag needed to have the zipper reattached. Today I did this and several other “repairs” it was still six hours of sewing and now it’s time to make some dinner! 😊

Photos from Sew What?'s post 01/26/2022

My client brought me 2 Coats that needed to be tailored, as she is a tiny woman to begin with and she recently lost some additional weight! I showed you pii ok crates of this Michael khors coat, black with the animal print. I needed to shorten the sleeves by 2.5”, and add snapclosures for a tighter, warmer fit. The red Talbots coat is adorable as well! I double breasted it to wrap around her a little tighter, and also shortened the sleeves on this one by 1.75”. They are both awesome coats, and I’m glad I was able to make them wearable for my client!! 😊

I sewed for 6 hours. And I’m done for the day…..and I’m going to catch up on the latest episodes of “This is Us” and “Blacklist” and eat dinner n front of the TV while enjoying a cocktail. Don’t judge me. 😂 I patch a beloved pair of workout pants. And I tailored a Michael Khors (sp? Because obviously I don’t own one or know how to spell it…) coat….. and I”fixed” a repair gone bad on a beloved sweatshirt. And now I’m done for the day…. Tomorrow will be more…. Because although I don’t usually see you all on a Sunday, I do sew……..and Facebook won’t let me add photos so I’ll add them in a minute…..

Today was a lot of repairs and alterations. there were some jeans that needed to be cut and hemmed. I’m a perfectionist, and I like to match all of the threads so that no one would ever know that they’ve been altered. Then there were some sport pants that needed to be cut and hemmed to the perfect length. Then there were some suit pants for a funeral that needed to be literally made bigger by three inches. That was a bit of a chore, but I found three extra inches of fabric at the rear seam. I was able to let the pants out, and taper them down, so that although they started as a size 30 waist, they ended up being a size 33 waist. No one will ever be able to tell they were altered.😊 all in all, six hours of Sewing today, made four clients very happy!

My client is tiny and this gathered full circle skirt gown looks awesome on her! It needed just a couple of alterations- I needed to taper the sides 2.5” from armpit to waist. I needed to cut the sequined over skirt to be 4” shorter. She is going to look amazing at the wedding! 😍😊

Photos from Sew What?'s post 01/14/2022

My client is disabled. That’s means that I go to her home. We’ve been
making a visit out of it each time I go to measure and pick up, or to return the finished items. She’s a tiny woman. Every pair of her winter pants needed to be cut and hemmed 9”!! We had several lovely visits over the Christmas holidays! We even exchanged cookies and shared a cup of coffee! 😊 #buildingrelationships

I definitely can’t sew if I’m distracted, so the first paragraph I am guilty of!!
But the rest of it?? 1) I sew in my pajamas! 2) I don’t own a lipstick!! 3) ain’t no husband coming home for me to impress- I’d rather impress my sewing clients with my expertise!!! 4) I only wear a dress if I’m going to a wedding or a banquet!!!! 😂😂😂😂

Photos from Sew What?'s post 12/15/2021

My client has a little boy who has bunkbeds. He sleeps on the top bunk and he wants the bottom bunk to be curtained fortress. His favorite color is orange. Picked up orange heavy winter weight fleece. I needed to create three curtain panels 45”x 40”. I attached tiebacks to the center two panels. There were two 20“ x 40“ pieces of fabric left over, so I created the little boy a complementary 20 x 20 orange fleece pillow to match his curtains. I hope he likes them!! 😊

Photos from Sew What?'s post 12/15/2021

This week is ALL curtains! This first client had four panels of white linen curtains for her new bathroom, so that no one will see you in the window.… They wouldn’t fit over the tension rod end! I ripped out the scenes from the 1” rod pocket, and widened it to a 3” rod pocket to fit the circumference of the end of the tension rod. My client was one happy camper! She can finally shower in complete privacy! 😊

Photos from Sew What?'s post 12/13/2021

My client brought me a jumper that had the B spaghetti straps ripped off. She also had a soft blue leather purse that the seam had ripped out of. She remembered that I sewed this purse once before on the other side, where those seams ripped out! She also brought me a thicker faux leather bag that the strap had ripped through. It’s able to reinforce and restitch the strap to the purse. All in a days work! 😊

Photos from Sew What?'s post 12/13/2021

My clients new wide leg jeans fit perfectly except for the length. I fixed that problem quickly! The she came to pick them up and dropped of her sons new hoodie, where he put it on and the stitching ripped out on the pocket, so I fixed that too! 😊

Photos from Sew What?'s post 12/13/2021

My clients daughter received her choir gown. It fit perfectly on the body but was 6” too by long. Since this young lady will be having growth spurts for the next year or so, mom asked me to retain the fabric on the full circle skirt, creating a very wide 6” hem. I rated it inside, every six inches to do just that and the dress turned out perfectly! This way, I’ll be able to let it out in 1” increments over the next year or so as daughter grows! 😊

My client needed 14 buckles sewn onto 14 streaks for a project of his. It was a relatively easy job, and I delivered them
To him last week. 😊

Photos from Sew What?'s post 12/08/2021

My client had five t-shirts that she asked me to use to create two memory pillows. I used the large back on two of the shirts to create the back, and created a patchwork front. I used a special poly fil that is machine washable without any clumping! The pillows can be washed and dried in the machines safely without compromising the integrity or design of the pillows. 😊

Sometimes we buy pants that fit great! Except for the length! The past two days were nothing but pants! Cutting and hemming for a perfect fit! Seven pair. They all turned out terrific, and best of all they fit perfectly now! 😊

Photos from Sew What?'s post 11/29/2021

Yes- this is a real baby and not the most adorable doll you’ve ever seen! My client brought me the bow from her wedding gown, and asked me if I would turn into a christening outfit for this guy! It turned out amazing!😍😊❤️

Photos from Sew What?'s post 11/29/2021

My client had two favorite holiday Tableclothes that are now way too long for her table without the leaf! She brought them to me on the morning day before thanksgiving. She wanted to use them for the holiday, She asked me to cut and hem them 30” so they were a perfect fit! Her husband bought six new pairs of pants( jeans and khakis) he needs them all to be cut and hemmed 5” for the perfect length. Everything turned out great and she picked it all upon Wednesday afternoon, just in time for the holidays! 😊

Okay so if you want a amazing seamstress. My girl Lynn Roberts Aceto is your woman. I had a 18 layered dress and the way this woman tackled this dress was incredible! She's not only talented with how hard she worked on my dress with only a few days till my wedding she is also a very good long term friend of mine. So hit her up !! 10/10 would highly recommend 👌 Molly Kate Dykins Wegman

My client is a very happy mother of the groom! Her gown was too long and slightly too big, but I made sure it was perfect for the occasion! She looks beautiful!😍😊❤️💕

Photos from Sew What?'s post 10/30/2021

And here are some pictures of the bride’s niece! Her gown was too long and too big. We made it fit her like a glove! She looks beautiful, and told me she danced all night comfortably! 😊😍💕😁❤️

Photos from Sew What?'s post 10/30/2021

This beautiful woman bought this gown a year and a half ago, to renew her wedding vows in 2020, and then Covid happened. It sat in the closet for a while, and when she tried it on it was way too tight around you bust waist and hips. The gown is absolutely gorgeous. I removed a couple of layers of heavy toile, to give it a more slender look. I also ripped out the side seams, measured, and added two satin panels, using the fabric that was left over after I cut and hemmed the remaining 6 layers to be 7” shorter. The wedding was last weekend, they had a wonderful time, my bride was cool and comfortable dancing all night! 😍💕❤️
