This will be amazing! Everyone, please join Tony at the Kalispell Library!

Come one, come all! Join us for a lively reading of the Declaration of Independence by Head Librarian Tony Edmondson on the front steps of the library after the Kalispell Fourth of July parade. Stick around, celebrate with your neighbors, and don’t miss the outfit!

From storytime and reading challenges to teen programs and hands-on workshops, our libraries are packed with experiences this summer that spark curiosity, build connection, and give kids and teens a place to belong. Whether it's a first chapter book or a brand-new skill, these are the moments that stay with young people long after summer ends.

The Flathead Library Foundation is honored to play a role in making it all possible. Supporting programs like these is exactly why we do this work — because great libraries don't just hold books, they hold communities together. We're proud to stand behind the experiences that make our libraries a place every family in the Flathead Valley can call their own.

Here's to a summer full of discovery.

Your library card is free. But your library isn't.

Here's a breakdown of what goes in to funding out Flathead County Libraries:

💸 Tax dollars fund the core: staff, hours, buildings, basic collections. It's your county investment at work.

💸 Friends of the Library fill in the gaps — think book sales, small grants, volunteer muscle.

💸 The Flathead Library Foundation funds the extras that make it exceptional — community programs, interactive exhibits, the Summer Experience, the new Bigfork Library, and more.

Tag someone who maybe didn't know the Foundation existed and the next time you walk in and see something that feels a little extra — that's us.
