🚨🚨
A juicy storm is driving dangerous avalanche conditions today. Great riding and safer conditions can be found in sheltered terrain and on lower-angled slopes.
Photo: A skier-triggered avalanche from early January. Accumulating storm snow may make for similar size avalanches to this one.
A special shoutout to our volunteer field partners this season: Lydia Willoughby, Erich Peitzsch, Zack Gidley, and Mike Bussard. Thanks for your time, stoke, and mountain companionship.

Strong winds have created fresh slabs that could be triggered by a rider today. Evan a small slide has the potential to setp down into a deeper weak layer, producing a much larger avalanche. Steer around pockets of wind-drifted snow and thick twice about seep, shaded slopes above 6000', where those buried weak layers remain a concern.
Photo: Just one part of a very large avalanche failing on the JDL near Hash Mountain in the northern Swan. Thickest part of the crown is estimated at 6-8' deep.
