Thinking about going on a cruise? Did you know:

🛳 Most cruise lines allow you to bring a bottle of wine or champagne as well as a case of soda or other non-alcoholic beverage with you?

🛳 There is always at least one elegant dinner night (unless your cruise is super short), so if dressing up is your jam, this is your time to shine!

🛳 If you're traveling with others and don't want to pay for the wifi or chat function onboard, take a small, magnetic whiteboard to leave notes for one another on your door--they're made of metal.

🛳 The onboard spa services tend to be rather expensive, but many of the ports are likely to have nice spas with much cheaper services should that be the type of relaxing you're looking to do.

🛳 Many ships are the size of small towns. While you're likely to do a lot of walking around no matter what, it's worth considering picking your room location according to where you expect to spend most of your time on board--the end of the ship with the adults-only sun and pool area, for example.

Now I know Halloween is coming up, but I actually kind of like Dia de los Mu***os more. While I'm not of Mexican background, and I never personally knew anyone who actually celebrated this day, I love the way it's full of color, flowers, food and the remembrance of loved ones lost. I tend to use it as an excuse to make tamales each year and watch Coco with friends.

One of my FAVORITE event food options is charcuterie. It's pretty, it's easy, and you can scale way up or way down to fit your guest count with ease. It's great for a cocktail hour, a late night snack bar, or your main course in some cases. Plus, you can put a twist on the concept by doing a dessert charcuterie board, or a hot cocoa one!

Let's talk about green chile. New Mexicans will put it on or in anything. ANYTHING. A.NY.THING.

Desert life. A shocking variety of things survive and thrive in the desert. And you probably thought only cacti lived here 🌵 Also, seemingly little known fact, saguaros do not grow in New Mexico 😂

50th International Balloon Fiesta yesterday, breakfast today at my FAVORITE restaurant of all time, The Range Cafe, and a visit to the botanic gardens. Such a great experience seeing so many balloons at once!

Annual visit to St. James Tearoom today! We especially couldn't pass up the chance for the month's menu of the wizarding world!! Just as lovely and delightful as always 🫖

Friday Friday Friday! I haven't posted a in a while, so here is a slightly unorthodox one. As opposed to the usual favorite experience I'd post about, here is one of my all time favorite places. The Jemez valley. Beautiful red rock mesas, cottonwoods that follow the creek and scent the air, and such a pleasant and peaceful pace. Plus the always delicious Highway 4 Cafe!
