Protecting Transboundary Watersheds

03/31/2026

We’re back in the metaverse!

After some time away, Rivers Without Borders is reconnecting with the places and people that inspire our work. 🌈 ☀️🌎

The Taku watershed spans 4.5 million acres, stretching from the boreal forests of northwest British Columbia into the temperate rainforest of southeast Alaska. Braided rivers wind through muskeg wetlands while pale-blue glaciers carve through jagged mountains.

A biological refuge, the Taku is one of the largest intact watersheds on the Pacific coast of North America — and Southeast Alaska’s most productive salmon river system.

Though we’ve been quiet online, our commitment to our transboundary watersheds has never wavered. Rivers Without Borders remains dedicated to seeing the Tulsequah Chief mine site fully cleaned up and the Taku watershed given the respect it deserves.

Check out our blog, linked in our bio, for updates on all things Taku.

Thanks for being part of our community and stay tuned for more! ⚡
