CALLING A LOCAL TAMALE MAKER

Shell Mill is looking to connect with a local tamale maker who understands that good food starts with good corn, simple ingredients, traditional methods, and no fillers, junk, or mystery additives.

We’re especially interested in:
• traditional masa made from quality corn
• thoughtfully sourced fillings (meat or veggie)
• small-batch, old-school tamales made with care

Extra love if you offer GF options!!

If you care about where your corn comes from, how your masa is prepared, and doing things the way they’ve been done for generations, we’d love to connect and see if there’s a natural fit.

This isn’t about mass production, it’s about honest food, made well, for our local community.

🌽 NOW BOOKING | SPRING & EARLY SUMMER 🌽

We’re currently booking events for Spring & Early Summer, and Shell Mill is on the hunt for vendor opportunities that are the right fit.

A quick (but important) note: we don’t roll in with a pop-up canopy. We bring a 1916 stone mill mounted on a 16’ trailer, so a standard vendor space won’t quite cut it. If you have the room, or an event that aligns with heritage skills, agriculture, foodways, education, or handmade goods, we’d love to talk!

While we’re famous for the BBQ and the music, the real reason we gather is Community. This event is our way of saying "Thank You" to the men and women who keep our communities safe. It’s about neighbors helping neighbors and showing our heroes that they never stand alone.

It’s a Thank You: Every ticket, every rib, and every 5K registration is a direct "thank you" to our local fire, police, and EMS teams.

It Builds a Stronger Community: This is the day we put down our phones, step away from our screens, and celebrate the bonds that make our town special.

It Fuels Their Mission: 100% of proceeds go toward the equipment, training, and support our responders need to save lives year-round.

Today we celebrate the greatest gift ever given "For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given" (Isaiah 9:6). Long before the world understood the need, God provided the answer in a manger.

We’re grateful this season not just for the joy, the gatherings, and the good food (because yes, that matters), but for the reminder that hope came wrapped in humility. May your homes be full, your hearts be steady, and your focus fixed on the one Christmas is really about.

NASHVILLE — Pick Tennessee Products, the Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s producer-focused marketing program, has been awarded a $20,000 America 250 grant to support statewide outreach celebrating the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

“Tennessee farmers and producers have always been at the heart of our communities,” Assistant Commissioner for Business Development Matthew Wade said. “Through this Exhibitions and Programs grant, Pick Tennessee Products will spotlight the people and products that reflect our state’s agricultural legacy while encouraging Tennesseans to support local, now and for generations to come.”
