Every day there are new headlines or a new social media post that shocks my conscience.

Daily.

I do not believe that I am alone in feeling like every time I look, there is something more outrageous than when I looked last.

It’s exhausting, and it seems that the more tired we all grow, the more it seems we all lash out.

It is a machine that our society can’t seem to stop feeding.

From that perspective, it’s easy to see why so many people are losing hope.

That’s why the Bride of Christ must find her voice.

The voice that does not call for a return to religion or institutions that can be contained within four walls, but the voice that says,

"Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." Matt 3:2, 4:17

Now more than ever, we need a roadmap to recovery, as God is calling us to stand in the gap, but we must careful to NOT stand in judgment.

For while it is true that we have Biblical authority, pursuant to the guidelines outlined in Matthew 18:15-17, to call out sin and champion accountability, we are also directed to “let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice [and to] be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Eph. 4:31-32

As the entire body of Christ is being called repentance, I must be reminded that “hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses” Proverbs 10:12

So for those of you that have heard that call, and responded, may I suggest that we all take a page out of Paul’s playbook, and start praying for all the people we love dearly, as Paul prayed for the church in Colossians.

Now I know that a call for prayer may not feel like much, but God’s word will not return void. Isaiah 55:11

And in the Kingdom of Heaven, it is still true that with “faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” Matt. 17:20

So, if I may, I will start by praying for you right now, with the example Paul provided to us,

I pray that you may be filled with the knowledge of [God’s] will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him:

Bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

I pray that you will be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; by giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified YOU to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.

I pray that you will be remined that he has delivered US from the domain of darkness and transferred US to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

And let us be reminded, “above all of these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.” Col. 3:14, Amen.
