IAFF Local 2567 Jenks Fire/Rescue

Last week, Volunteer Academy 26-1 completed their Fire 1 written testing, and live burns. This week, they completed their Fire 2 written and skills. Huge thank you to Owasso Fire Department and Broken Arrow Fire Department for always allowing us access to their training facilities. It is a privilege we are grateful for.

We wish all of these fine Men and Women the best of luck in their journey to become career Firemen.

Full time Academy 26-1 is coming up soon… if you are in the current hiring process, your preparation will be apparent on Day 1. Come prepared.

Just in time to return for Mother’s Day; four of our Members attended the annual Spring Break Your Habits conference held by over the weekend.

We are very grateful to be enabled to participate in conferences just like this. Chief Rhodes said it best on Friday night - “It is not enough to just be into the job”. To spread the mission and constantly improve our skills is to be a Fireman and a true servant.

Captain Kirk Morris has spent 28 years serving the citizens of Jenks, America. He is very well known for being the most joyful, caring, and professional member in our ranks. A true Staple, Father Figure, and stand-up Fireman.

A Shift and C Shift will now be coming in to work, knowing that their food in the fridge is still safe from the shift before. B Shift will truly never be the same.

Captain Morris leaves a Legacy at the Jenks Fire Department that will live on for many generations. His “Morris-isms” will become traditions, his daily habits becoming rituals.

A Retirement well earned.

The Footprints behind Station 2 hold history within them. History of our Department, its members, and the standards we uphold. It’s the promise that we make to the community. It is the sacred oath that we all swear to.

Keep at it, never quit, and immerse yourself in the job.
