I came to Jay in May 2018 and went to see your Museum. Very neat. My Father was from Jay and his school class picture was hanging on the wall in 2015. It was not there in 2018. Have you finished remoldling ?? Also you had a book for sale there called Heritage of the Hills, A Delaware County History. I would love to purchase one of these books. Do you still have them ? How much are they ? How much for mailing ? I will prepay. Thank ;you. Would love to have a copy of the picture of my Father.

How great is this capture of the Cayuga-Splitlog Mission Church in Grove? This 1896 building, constructed from limestone in a Romanesque Revival style, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. Head to northeast Oklahoma to see its impressive detail up close!

For the past 15 years, Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative employees have been teaming up to spread holiday cheer for disadvantaged children, thanks to the benevolent outreach of REC Cares (formerly known as Denim 4 Dollars). The organization this year sponsored Christmas gifts for nearly 60 kids across the cooperative service territory of Craig, Mayes, Delaware, and Ottawa counties.

The persimmon tree growing in our Cherokee Nation Heirloom Garden has spoken, and it looks like we may be shoveling lots of snow this winter! ❄️ β˜ƒοΈ πŸ₯Ά

According to folklore, when you split the seed of a ripe persimmon, the shape of the seed can predict the winter weather for the area: a fork shape indicates a mild winter; a knife means cold, icy winds that β€œcut like a knife”; and a spoon means a winter with a lot of snow to shovel.

🌳 What do the persimmons say in your area?? Let us know in the comments below! 🌟 Bonus points for photos! 😊

REMINDER: A planned outage this morning will interrupt power to 20 NOEC members served by the south feeder of the Gray substation. Members affected include those east of Tia Juana and south through the wildlife refuge to Topsy. The outage will begin at approximately 10 a.m. and last an estimated two hours. This service interruption will allow our power supplier to repair a transmission line switch.
