VOICE Mentor Program
VOICE matches caring community volunteers with students who may benefit from social, emotional or academic support.

Only 27% of mentors from the VOICE Mentor Program are male
Research shows that when students connect with mentors they can relate to, those relationships tend to feel more natural, more consistent, and more impactful over time.
Mentorship isn’t about having all the answers.
It’s about showing up, listening, and being someone, a student can count on.
You don’t have to be perfect.
You just have to be present.
You could be that connection for someone who is still waiting.

Congratulations, Mary Nam KOMO, on your appointment to the Washington State University Board of Regents!
We are especially proud to celebrate Mary as a former VOICE mentor and longtime champion of young people.
Several years ago, Mary featured the VOICE Mentor Program in a KOMO News story. After seeing the impact of mentoring firsthand, she chose to become a mentor herself, investing her time and heart in supporting local students.
We are honored that she highlighted her mentoring experience as part of her journey of community service and leadership.
Congratulations, Mary, on this well-deserved appointment. Thank you for your commitment to students, education, and the communities you continue to serve.
