If you're a parent or guardian with concerns of safety of the COVID-19 vaccine for your 5-11 year old, see below!

A recent review of early vaccine safety data for children ages 5โ€“11 years old found that mild-to-moderate reactions such as pain in the arm where the shot was given, fatigue, and headaches were commonly reported and may occur following Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. CDC and FDA continue to closely monitor the safety of COVID-19 vaccines.

With COVID-19 cases on the rise around the world, everyone ages 5 years and older should get vaccinated as soon as possible. The best protection against COVID-19 is vaccination: https://bit.ly/MMWR705152a1.

About the updated CDC recommendations for isolation and quarantine -
If you are feeling much better after 5 days at home, be thoughtful about where you go and who you see during those remaining 5 days.
โ€ข Can you work from home?
โ€ข Can you delay visiting grandpa or other high risk friends and family?

Life comes with a number of risks, but public health is always here to help reduce those risks. (Sheltering during tornadoes, wearing your seat belt, getting your flu shot, and carrying Naloxone if someone you love is at risk for overdose.)

With COVID-19, you can also reduce your risk!
Get vaccinated and boosted.
Stay home when sick.
Get tested when sick or exposed.
Wear a mask indoors with those outside of your household.
