This is an incredibly hard day for Old Gold. Javon Stovall, one of our beloved past-members, has passed away this week. Javon helped pioneer the creation of our A Cappella group, helping us through our transition from a show choir to the singing ensemble that we are today. Without him, we might not exist. His love for music could only be rivaled by the compassion he had for everyone he met. His friendliness helped so many of us find our place here at the University of Iowa. We simply cannot express just how devastated we are by this loss.
Thank you, Javon, for helping build this family. We ❤️ you forever. RIP.

After difficult conversations, heavy hearts, and hopeful eyes towards the future, Old Gold Acapella has decided to take the Fall 2020 semester off and not meet for rehearsals or concerts. In efforts to keep all members safe and to do our part to aid mitigation efforts of Covid-19, auditions will not be held this semester for new members. It is crucial for us to remember the importance of music, so PLEASE... no one stop singing! We are taking this time to reflect on how, even in absence, we are able to make a positive influence on our campus. We look forward to our return and our message that uplifts EVERYONE. Please stay healthy and safe! Keep on the look out for updates we may have throughout the semester!
Congratulations to our 2020-21 Old Gold A Cappella Executive Board! Looking forward to another great year of singing.
