It has been a great opportunity to meet the community that I live in, see what invites them to be creative and help inspire them to grow. I take immense pride in my work; striving to create unique, decorative pieces that highlight my signature as an artist. I experiment with preserving memories by combining naturally sourced elements and re purposed, vintage materials with hypoallergenic findings to create heirloom quality jewelry that pulls at the heart strings. Many of the focal materials I use are antique or vintage with age and petinas. I bring them together with new elements to give each piece a new life. Each one is non-reproduceable work that is carefully constructed by hand with care, love and attention. Along with having a strong attraction to Vintage heirlooms and historic memorabilia, Lunar Crafts is also home to the original and sustainable Butterfly Wing Jewelry. Some people know me as the Butterfly Wing lady when you see my Earrings fluttering in the summer market breeze. All butterflies used in my art have been sustainably collected and are completely CRUELTY FREE! Me and my son collect them from local gardens, prairies and woodlands when they have already fallen to the ground and are expired. I also have had many gifted to me from locals in the community. I am always happy to accept donations if you find one that has chosen your home to pass away on. Each wing is unique and stunning in there own way. They are carefully preserved in resins or under glass cabachons to enhance color and durability for the purpose of jewelry or spread and dried for the purpose of shadow box display. The opportunity I have had to work closely with these wings has allowed for a great deal of observation and mediation and has also allowed the community the same opportunity to interact with and learn more about an important part of our local ecosystem. Furthermore, we connect with the more symbolic approach of freedom and transformation that travels with the Butterfly.

Though you wont see my colorful blanket on the Downtown streets anymore, I am still very much in action! Much of my business is conducted at the Downtown Iowa City Farmers Market and various craft fairs in the Johnson County area but If you wish to purchase something you've seen on my page, leave me a message! I work through Paypal and USPS. 3-5 day shipping in the continental US is $2.75 per item. Combined shipping cost is based on weight. Custom orders are greatly appreciated and encouraged :)
