Serving the Children of the World Old Capitol Kiwanis is an organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.
Old Capitol Kiwanis meets every Thursday morning at St. Mark's United Methodist Church (2675 E. Washington St, Iowa City) at 6:30 am Central Time. Visitors are always welcome.
Operating as usual
On April 19th Thirty Three Old Capitol Kiwanians assisted students from Southeast Junior High at the Kirkwood Financial Literacy Fair from 9 am to 12 pm. After deciding the careers they might pursue the 400 students visited 12 stations to make choices about costs they could incur living by themselves. They made choices in their housing, transportation and other expenses they would have. Most of the students did not realize all of the hidden costs they would have until participating in this program.
