Nearly 90 members and guests had fabulous, festive fun at our annual Holiday Party last night at The Highlander Hotel. ❄ Preliminary totals show the Women’s Council Silent Auction raised $8,768 for the scholarship fund! Today starts National Association of Home Builders' Professional Women in Building Week! 📢 Meet Jennie Wunderlich with PSC Distribution/Studio H2O Kitchen & Bath Showroom. She’s also an Associate member, whose leadership is making an impact on the industry. 💪🏼

Jennie is vice chair of our Remodelers Council and represents that council on the Iowa City Area HBA board of directors. She’s also involved with our Legislative Committee.

Jennie greatly enjoys helping contractors and homeowners with their projects and thrives at making spaces more functional and accessible. “When I was in high school and college, I had no idea all the opportunities in the building industry,” she said. “I hope by serving in leadership at the various levels of the HBA that young women might investigate the incredible variety of professions involved in this great industry.” 🌟

It’s teacher appreciation week! We are proud of our Vocational Training Council (VTC) members who support area schools’ Industrial Technology programs. 🙌

Members teach and mentor students in the skilled trades to benefit youth and the home-building industry. The VTC includes instructors at long-time partner Kirkwood Community College, and the Iowa City Area HBA co-hosts Kirkwood’s NAHB Student Chapters.

We had the pleasure of working with this homeowner in November 2022, and helped pick out fixtures for the kitchen.
