WESTBOUND I-80 CLOSURE THIS WEEK

Weather permitting, westbound I-80 will be closed overnight Tuesday and Wednesday, March 15 and 16. Traffic will be detoured to Exit 2, Forevergreen Road.

Closure hours:
• 11 p.m. Tuesday, March 15 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 16
• 11 p.m. Wednesday, March 16 to 5 a.m. Thursday, March 17

Beginning this week, all traffic on U.S. 218 will be shifted to the southbound lanes. There will be two lanes in each direction, in a head-to-head traffic configuration. This traffic shift will run for approximately 1 mile and will be in place through late summer or fall 2022. While traveling along this section of U.S. 218, please be aware of narrower lanes, limited shoulders, and reduced speeds.

Tonight is the night to change those clocks!

If you're leaving town for spring break, please move your car off-street. It will allow for our Streets department to do some potential street cleaning since the weather may actually be spring-like over spring break!

Are you headed out of town for spring break next week? The City of Iowa City will be cleaning the streets while you are gone! Make sure you have your vehicle parked where it won't get towed.
