Finished up installing a spiral staircase today for a friend. It was a first for Sam Brown Carpentry. There was an existing 7’ tall deck with no access to the backyard. The customer also added a large stamped concrete patio with a fire pit.

Recently finished up a fire restoration job in Williamsburg, IA. Cory from McFarland Carpentry and I installed all of the interior doors and the trim package: including the window jambs and casing, the door casing and base for the project.

Customer requested a bench with a pergola top. We looked at some pictures for ideas and this is what we came up with! Built with western red cedar.

Updated this deck with new deckboards, railings and stairs. The customer wanted to use hog paneling for the railings to allow for a better view of the Iowa River.

Started and finished an outdoor farm table for our back deck today. It’s 96” x 40” and has a 2x6 cedar top and rough-sawn cedar 2x4’s for the legs and braces. Next up: two custom cedar benches for the sides.

Finished built in bookcase! From a pile of materials to finished product.

Another new project is in the works. A customer requested a built in bookcase with 18” deep cabinets, butcher block counter and adjustable shelving. They will paint and finish, and I will install it afterwards. The cabinets and drawers needed to bet cut down from a stock size of 24” to the requested 18”.

Custom panels for a stainless steel refrigerator. The customer stained the panels to match, and we assembled and installed them onsite.

Pre-finished stair treads and risers updated the old carpeted stairs.

Updated rental home with vinyl plank flooring.

Custom trellis for a rose bush. Made with 2x2 cedar.
