Shelaina “Shea” Springfield, BSN, RN is a critical care nurse whose approach to healthcare radiates warmth, intentionality, and a deeply rooted sense of compassion. Currently serving in the ICU at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Shea brings a holistic, patient-centered perspective to every bedside she touches—treating not only the body, but the spirit and heart of each person in her care.
A proud Rock Island native raised in the heart of the Quad Cities; Shea discovered her love for nursing at a young age while watching the tv show Trauma: Life in the E.R. with her mother. Her passion has only deepened over the years, especially as she witnessed the disparities in healthcare experienced by the community that raised her. Today, she serves with a sense of purpose that is both personal and powerful. Shea’s journey has taken her far beyond the Midwest—she’s lived in Europe, the Pacific Northwest, and cities like Schaumburg and Elgin, Illinois. These experiences abroad have shaped her worldview, allowing her to connect more deeply with people from all walks of life. Her ability to recognize, respect, and adapt to cultural differences has become a cornerstone of her nursing practice.
Now, Shea is excited to begin a new chapter with Glow Hydration Med Spa, where she’ll be offering IV hydration and aesthetic services. This opportunity blends her love of wellness and clinical care, providing a space where beauty, healing, and empowerment coexist. She is currently furthering her education through the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program at Northern Kentucky University, building on her clinical foundation and expanding her ability to serve patients with deeper knowledge and broader scope. Beyond her professional roles, Shea is a proud mother to two beautiful children who are her greatest inspiration. In her personal time, she finds joy in organizing her space, scrapbooking, spending time with friends and family, drawing with her son, and date nights with her daughter, gardening, and spending quiet moments outdoors. Her life is a gentle balance of ambition and grace, with every step forward guided by love—for her family, her patients, and her purpose.
