What kind of prom dress can you find at Goodwill? Let's see
This week we randomly selected one store to visit so we could check out the available formal dresses. We found two round racks of options and selected our favorites for this post. From fluffy to sleek, floor-length to skater, these are representative of the prom dress options you'll find at your local Goodwill.
And, not only will you save money by shopping secondhand, but your purchase helps your neighbors and community. We reinvest 88 cents of every dollar you spend in programs and services that help people find and keep family-sustaining jobs. It's enough to make you want to dress up and dance the night away!

88 cents of every dollar from the sale of donated goods at Goodwill of the Heartland goes right back into the community through local programs and services. Give someone and your closet a fresh start this spring. https://www.goodwillheartland.org/locations

Your shopping inspiration for this weekend is wall art!

From large canvases to frames of all sizes, a small investment can change a room - as well as change a life! (Goodwill reinvests 88 cents of every dollar you spend in your community and neighbors.) 💙
The following photos were taken at multiple stores during the past several days, showing you're bound to find unique and exciting options no matter where you shop.

We often say that we never know what will come through the donation doors. Here's some proof.
One donor brought bags of Squishmallows to the Muscatine Goodwill Store, while another gave a beautiful red pair of Hunter boots (size 11) to the Coralville Goodwill. Meanwhile, the Iowa City store received not one, but two shop-quality pedicure chairs.
Our donors are amazing. Thank you!

Busy stores mean more curated displays to inspire shoppers! Our Clinton store manager pulled these two together. What do you think? 💙

Studies show most people ditch their resolutions by Jan. 17, but we know how you can get your goal to get organized back on track. Set a box near your closet and fill it with unwanted or ill-fitting items. When the box is full (or when you're tired of looking at it) take it to your local Goodwill.
Not only will someone else have an opportunity to use what you no longer need, but we turn your donations and purchases into opportunities for personal and professional development.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said this in Montgomery, Alabama in 1957 and it continues to ring true.
What are you doing for others? How do you give back to your community?
The federal holiday taking place today is our only one designated as a day of service. Consider it a day on, not off, and an opportunity to connect and serve in your community.

Serve up all your favorite winter comforts with dishes and bakeware from Goodwill. These sets were photographed this week at Cedar Rapids West. All the pieces priced at $6.88 or less!

If you or someone you know needs help finding a job, check out one of our Helms Career Centers. We can help you prepare or update your resume, show you how to search for jobs online or simply brush up your computer skills. The centers are free and open to the public. Our team members, like Carolyn at Cedar Rapids South (Mt. Vernon Rd.), curate merchandise on the sales floor and use those items to create beautiful displays. It's a short-lived labor of love because what they pull together rarely survives the day.
Carolyn, an assistant manager, had just finished styling this rack yesterday. She said she loves the happy colors on the second shelf and hopes it brightens someone's day.

Even when the world looks a little monochrome outside, you can color the inside any way you want. And, when you shop at Goodwill, you save money and help your neighbors get the training and experience they need for good-paying jobs.

Did you know your SNAP benefits come with a side of career training? We can help you build self-sufficiency by providing training for a new job or promotion as well as necessary services to support you while you learn.
https://www.goodwillheartland.org/what-we-do/people-services/snap/

With your help we fulfill our mission to help people reach their full potential through education, training and the power of work. Every donated small appliance, pair of jeans, children's toy and book provides needed job training, veteran reintegration, community living assistance and more.
