Recently I traveled to San Clemente, California for this Mid Century Modern inspired design. The priorities were to create low maintenance spaces that enhance the views, and to draft a board shack that fits the architectural aesthetic. After a few days studying the elevations, local plant material, and the home itself, this design was master crafted to deliver on all the priorities with a signature wow factor that is sure to drop jaws. Recently I traveled to San Clemente to design the outdoor spaces for this one of a kind residence. It’s said to have one of the top five views in San Clemente, but now it will have the number one outdoor living space as well.😄🌴

Early in my career, I had the privilege of working with a kindhearted couple who simply wanted a backyard they could be proud of — a place to gather, relax, and enjoy life.
This tropical garden-inspired retreat was the result: complete with an outdoor kitchen, waterfall, firepit, gazebo, and a storage shed that blended right into the landscape. There’s space to play, space to hide away, and beauty around every corner.
Looking back, the rendering I created then isn’t at the level I produce now — but it was enough to bring their dream to life. And that’s what made it so meaningful.
