Having an emergency kit is essential, especially in the winter time with bad weather and worse traffic. It is not uncommon to have to sit at a truck stop for several days if you get caught in a storm.

School is in Full Session 🚌🏫📚 Heighten your awareness around all school buses and school zones!
School Bus/Crosswalk Reminders 🏃♀️⚠️
👉 Many state laws require drivers to stay at least a minimum distance traveling behind a school bus at all times.
👉 Motorists must stop for school buses and school vans when red lights are flashing. Be on the lookout for flashing yellow and red lights, and be ready to stop.
👉 Never pass a school bus when its stop sign arm is down and red lights are flashing.
👉 Do not begin driving again until the flashing red lights are turned off, the stop sign is put back in place and the bus begins moving.
👉 Be aware of children exiting the bus and moving into the roadway both in front and to the rear of the bus.
👉 You must come to a complete stop when the school crosswalks are occupied by pedestrians.e violations can correlate to a suspended CDL.
👉 Speed within the school zone is 15 mph.
👉 On multi-lane roadways passing slower or stopped vehicles going in the same direction is prohibited as it is vision obstruction.
👉 You must come to a complete stop when the school crosswalks are occupied by pedestrians.

Brake Safety Week 2022 is scheduled for Aug. 21-27. 🚨 During Brake Safety Week, commercial motor vehicle inspectors emphasize the importance of brake systems by conducting inspections and removing commercial motor vehicles found to have brake-related out-of-service violations from our roadways.
🏆 Drivers! Do the following to be be successful:
After stopping for any duration of time, drivers should fully depress the brake foot pedal to self-adjust the brakes.
Walk the perimeter of the truck and trailer, look at components of the brake system, and listen for air leaks.
Inspect the brake hosing for connections and wear (chaffing).
Conduct low air warning device system check.
Complete the self-brake check every day and each time hooking another trailer.
🦺 Inspection Items:
Driver’s license
Registration
Low air warning device
Pushrod travel (adjustment)
Brake linings/drums
Air loss rate (if leak detected)
Tractor protection system, ABS Lights
🚧 DOT Brake Inspection Procedure:
Step 1: Choose the inspection site
Step 2: Safety considerations
Step 3: Check air brake mechanical components
Step 4: Check steering axle air brake mechanical components
Step 5: Build the air pressure to 90-100 psi
Step 6: Check brake adjustment
Step 7: Check the tractor protection system
Step 8: Check the air brake ABS system (if applicable)
Step 9: Test low air pressure warning device
Step 10: Test air loss rate
Step 11: Finalize paperwork and provide the results to the driver (e.g., out-of-service, etc.)
