A man has been arrested for allegedly shooting 3 people last night in Muncie.

Rylynn Davis, 21, is facing numerous preliminary charges including murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and child neglect.

Cops were called to a home on South Walnut for a shooting a little before 5:30 Sunday night. Davis was arrested and claimed he was protecting himself.

When officer cleared the home they found 3 young children (ages 3, 2 and 3 months) locked in a bedroom and covered in dirt and f***s. The conditions were described as deplorable.

Witnesses told police that they saw Davis dragging a woman down the sidewalk by her feet and hitting her. Two people in a truck pulled up to intervene and police say Davis shot both of them.

One of those men was shot in the head and has injuries that police say are "incompatible with life." The other was shot in the abdomen.

The woman was shot multiple times in the face, abdomen, back and chest. She was pronounced deceased.

Davis denied shooting the women intentionally despite the numerous amount of gunshot wounds.

Court records we have right now don't go into detail about why those children were locked in that horrendous room.

Davis has yet to be formally charged. That decision will be made by the Delaware County Prosecutor.

: Police have arrested 21-year-old Rylynn Davis in connection to the Muncie shooting that left a 23-year-old woman dead and two others injured Sunday night.

Davis has been booked into the Delaware County Jail on preliminary charges including murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, criminal confinement, battery, neglect and criminal recklessness.

Court documents filed against Davis detail how officers were called to the area for a shooting and, in addition to the victims, found three young children who were “covered in dirt and f***s” inside a “deplorable” room. It was later determined that Davis was responsible for the children.

: 27-year-old Nicholas Fulk has been sentenced to 88 years in prison after being convicted of murder, aggravated battery, and battery with a deadly weapon in the deadly March 16, 2024 shooting at Landsharks Bar in Broad Ripple.

Surveillance video showed Fulk pulling a gun from a woman’s bra before opening fire as he ran toward the exit during a fight between two women inside the crowded bar.

Six people were shot. Security guard and Lawrence Township wrestling coach Timothy Brown Jr. was killed in the shooting.

Brown is remembered by many as a mentor, coach, and positive force in the community.

None of the others injured were involved in the fight.

DEVELOPING: Muncie police are investigating a triple shooting in the 2700 block of south Walnut Street. It happened Sunday around 5:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

• 23-year-old woman was shot multiple times and later died
• 40-year-old man was airlifted to Indy in critical condition
• 39-year-old man in stable condition

The dept. says the help of a retired police officer passing through the area was key in catching the 21-year-old suspect.
