The 74th ANNUAL HALLOWEEN PARADE is this Saturday!
The Independence Chamber of Commerce is pleased to partner with Centerpoint Medical Center and the City of Independence, to host the 74th Annual Halloween Parade. The longest running parade in the Kansas City area is set to take place on Saturday, October 29th, 2022, in Independence. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on the Historic Independence Square.
Spectators from the area are invited to gather around the Independence Square or on the parade route to watch the family-friendly parade of floats featuring school marching bands, community organizations, dance studios, fire trucks and other emergency vehicles, tractors, classic cars, and clever costumes. The Grand Marshal for this year’s parade is Chair of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Eric Knipp, CEO of i360 Insurance, LLC.
PARADE ROUTE:
The parade follows a familiar route that rolls through the Square with the line-up beginning on Walnut Avenue near Pleasant Street and then going east to Main Street. At Main Street, the parade goes north for two blocks, then west for three blocks on Lexington Avenue, back to Spring. At that point, the parade turns north on Spring and goes several blocks (past Truman Road), then veers to the northwest on Bess Truman Parkway and ends at McCoy Park.
AFTER THE PARADE:
After the parade, the Independence Square Association encourages spectators to support local and shop or dine at one of the many Square merchants who will be offering “Halloween Parade” event specials all day.
