More cool CNC woodwork done by Ethan. This was a wedding gift. We used a new software formate for the CNC machine to make a sketch-like engraving based off a simple photo. As always, the walnut was sustainably sourced and dried in an energy efficient solar kiln. Makes great anniversary or wedding gifts. What do you think?

When applying a finish, it’s best to stroke the wood in the direction of the grain....but on a 75+ year walnut round like this you’d be stroking in circles forever....
Likewise, many follow the grains of society to fit in... Make the choice to go against the grain, embrace your uniqueness, and then learn to leverage that as a personal strength!

Router sled at work on a massive American Red Elm Burl. Yes, burl, the weird wart-looking growth you sometimes see on trees. Open it up and you'll find amazing wood grain figure. This is truly a rare piece.
