Never clean machined mating surfaces with abrasives especially if those faces will not be re-machined. Even on cast iron light cleaning with a disc can cause measurable damage to the surface. Consider how much worse aluminum would be!!

Triumph parts:
Intake coated with a slick release thermal barrier to prevent fuel drop out, increase velocity and block engine bay heat. Depending on lighting it can appear as an amber color or black. The exhaust is coated with a high heat ceramic base for extra heat retention in addition to ciloxide red; a corrosion resistant/thermal barrier coating.

There can be a surprising amount of friction even in setups like overhead cam motors with roller followers especially as rpm increases.Running flat tappet or just wanting extra protection and lubrication? Coating camshafts can drastically increase their lifespan and free up some horsepower.

An often overlooked part to coat. C-lube can provide an incredible amount of protection especially on hardened metals often doubling wear life and in some cases much longer!

Note:this coating will change to a darker shade of red as it is heated but will change back as it cools

Dodge 3.7 cylinder head cracked from one side to the other. Yep, we can fix that.

We now use a better process to remove oxidation from aluminum allowing for better glass beaded finishes, especially on used parts. Top it with clear and you'll have parts that look great and stay that way for far longer.

High performance coatings to manage heat and friction
Posted here are three different lubricants and a thermal barrier

Dfl-1- works very well on ,but not limited to,softer surfaces or areas in which slightly more coating thickness and/or conformance is desired. It also is an air cure for heat sensitive parts. 300F is recommended but not required for coating function
Applications include bearings chrome valve stems or parts highly sensitive to acid based mixes

C-lube- a bake on (350F) reactive coating that has a large benefit over dfl-1 on harder surfaces such as pistons gears camshafts lifters etc. has slightly less conformance due to the outter layer easily buffing off but is the most lubricious coating available. It is also more flexible due to its higher binding strength to the the substrate making coating flexible parts such as metal chain guides possible

Both Dfl-1 and C-lube's main benefit other than conformance is their high level of adsorption of oil helping retain films under high levels of stress. If contact does occur however the pigments held within them are good to 350,000psi and increase in lubricity with added pressure. We've seen many engine parts saved when oil pressure has been lost. Sacrifice a coating not your parts!!!

Cbx- is a modified aluminum ceramic coating designed for extreme conditions in which high compression, boost or injector spray would normally damage thermal barriers. The coatings contents help prevent heat transfer to the piston while spreading heat out across its surface. This helps prevent preignition and piston skirt galling that would normally occur due to heat. It's level of adhesion is very high and is good to temperatures well past the melting point of aluminum.

Pksx- a powdered lubricant mix originally designed to bond metal surfaces by being buffed on. Contains lubricants similar to those in C-lube and Dfl-1. Requires no heat to cure though solvent wash can remove it before it's been run in with higher levels of pressure. Works very well for cylinder walls wrist pins and journals. It is applied to all of our parts coated with C-lube post burnishing. This material is very lubricious but lacking an etch to stick to and permanent binder it's lifespan can be much shorter than bonded coatings which can limit it to a break-in material when applied by itself in many cases
