Today, our crews have responded to multiple incidents involving vehicles trapped in floodwaters.
If you encounter water covering a roadway, TURN AROUND — DON’T DROWN.
Never attempt to drive through flooded roads. The depth of the water may be impossible to judge, the roadway beneath may be washed away, and even a small amount of moving water can carry a vehicle off the road.
Under no circumstances should you drive around barricades or road closure signs. These closures are in place for your safety. Driving around them is not only extremely dangerous, but it is also illegal.
Please avoid unnecessary travel until conditions improve. If you must be on the road, slow down, stay alert, and never take chances with floodwaters.
Your destination is not worth your life.

⚠️ ROAD CLOSED DUE TO FLOODING ⚠️
Homer Nance Road is currently CLOSED at the curve due to high water covering the roadway.
Please avoid the area and seek an alternate route. Emergency personnel are on scene monitoring conditions and ensuring public safety.
🚫 Do NOT attempt to drive through flooded roadways.
🌊 Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
🚗 It only takes a small amount of moving water to sweep a vehicle off the road.

Interested in Serving Your Community?
Last night, members of Moores Mill Fire Rescue gathered for our weekly station night and training. Crews spent the evening sharpening their skills, operating Ladder 135, and training on aerial operations and master stream deployment. Regular training like this helps ensure our firefighters are ready to respond when our community needs us most.
From hands-on ladder company operations to teamwork and leadership development, every training night is an opportunity to learn, grow, and serve alongside a dedicated group of volunteers.
If you’ve ever thought about becoming a firefighter, now is the time. No experience is necessary—we provide the training, equipment, and support you need to succeed.
