I'm still here! 😊
It has been a wonderfully busy summer and a season full of exciting changes for our family!
Joe and I recently moved just around the corner into what we affectionately call our "perfect grandparent home." Our middle daughter, her husband, and our precious 10-month-old grandchild have moved back home, and they're expecting another little one! Even more exciting, the rest of our family plans to follow within the next year. We truly feel like we're entering one of the sweetest seasons of our lives.
Many of you have been with me since 2016, when I launched Chateau de la Famille, which later became Mentone Vacation Rentals.
What started with one vacation home that belonged to us grew into the privilege of managing 30 beautiful vacation homes throughout Lookout Mountain. We were honored to work alongside incredible homeowners, investors, and families who entrusted us with their properties.
Our passion was never just about managing homes—it was about creating unforgettable guest experiences while sharing the beauty of Mentone with the world. Together, we watched the local vacation rental industry flourish. More visitors discovered the area, more local businesses benefited, new management companies were established, jobs were created, and more investment flowed into the community. We are incredibly proud of the positive impact we were able to make.
In 2024, we made the difficult decision to sell the business so we could spend more time with our growing family. It was absolutely the right decision.
But if I'm being honest… Joe and I have truly missed it.
Hospitality has always been one of our greatest passions, and we're thrilled to be stepping back into what we love with an extraordinary new adventure.

My love affair with this breathtaking region of our country began over 40 years ago, and now the dream is finally becoming a reality. We’re excited to share the journey with all of you as we create a special place surrounded by the beauty of the Grand Teton National Parkand Yellowstone National Park. Imagine having your very own home base for mountain adventures, wildlife sightings, unforgettable sunsets, and memories that will last a lifetime.
So we all know our fur babies can truly become some of the greatest blessings in our lives. Right up there with our spouses and children in the love, joy, and comfort they bring us. Their time with us is much shorter than our human loved ones, but somehow the love they give makes every moment worth it. They teach us patience, compassion, responsibility, and unconditional love in ways only pet owners truly understand.
I’ve had a lot to learn with my rabbit, and honestly, I’m still learning every day. But I love her dearly and I’m trying my best to give her the happiest, healthiest life possible while also helping her become a wonderful little member of our family. So far, my experience has honestly been a 9 out of 10, and I hope it stays that way… although we all know every pet comes with a few rough patches along the journey.
With my shepherds, they all went through what I called the “Tasmanian Devil stage” around nine months old. At times we were all terrified of them! 😂 But thankfully that stage passed, and they became some of the best dogs and companions we could’ve ever hoped for.
Now my doodle? I have to say he’s been pretty much wonderful from day one. Doodles really do tend to have that easygoing, loving personality.

Healthy and delicious nutrition!
This overnight oats recipe was shared with me by my daughter, who has been on her own health journey—not only for herself, but also to nourish her young family and husband.
Several years ago, I could not have imagined taking the time to prepare something like this, much less truly enjoying it. But I have discovered how delicious it is, and it has now become a routine part of both my morning breakfast and my husband’s.
Gluten-free organic whole oats, flaxseed, chia seeds, organic cinnamon, vanilla, and other yummy ingredients soaked overnight in almond milk. You can enjoy them cold, but we love them warmed with organic fruit and just a few drops of organic honey.
Just more proof that healthy nutrition can be simple, enjoyable, and delicious.
I love what I do! Whether it’s a charming 900-square-foot grandmother’s cottage near the beach, a rustic farm or cozy mountain cabin, a sprawling estate home on acreage, or a timeless craftsman-style home — helping others discover their style and create a space filled with comfort, beauty, personality, and flair is truly one of my happy places.
This home was transformed after the original spec finishes were complete. I added custom foyer paneling, all new light fixtures, a screened porch, fencing, a fireplace accent wall, cabinetry with floating beamed shelves, furniture, décor, and landscaping — easily and affordably turning a builder-grade spec home into a custom space that beautifully reflects the owners’ personality and lifestyle.
And to complete the transformation, Chanelle also staged this home for sale!
