Ticks may be small, but they can carry serious diseases like Lyme disease. As we spend more time outdoors, it’s important to take simple steps to protect yourself, your family, and your pets.

βœ… Use EPA-registered insect repellent
βœ… Wear long sleeves and pants when in wooded or grassy areas
βœ… Check yourself, children, and pets for ticks after being outside
βœ… Shower soon after coming indoors
βœ… Remove ticks promptly and properly

Don’t let ticks ruin your time outside β€” prevention is key!

Stay tick smart, Hudson!

Mental Health Awareness Month is a reminder that how we talk about mental health matters πŸ’š

Stigma can make it harder for people to ask for help, access treatment, or feel supported. We can all help reduce stigma by talking openly, using respectful language, sharing accurate information, and showing compassion.

This Memorial Day weekend, it’s a good time to check in on the people around us β€” family, friends, neighbors, veterans, and anyone who may be carrying more than we realize.

Mental health is health, and support is available.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and today we’re highlighting Adult Mental Health πŸ’š

Mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, and PTSD are common β€” and they are treatable. Reaching out for support is a sign of strength, not weakness.

The Health Department has a Hudson Social Worker who offers free 1:1 support and group-based programs for residents. If you or someone you care about could use support, please reach out to us to learn more.

Additional help is available:

Mental Health Awareness Month is a reminder that youth mental health matters. πŸ’š

Children and teens need support, connection, and trusted adults in their lives to help them build resilience and thrive. Checking in, listening without judgment, encouraging healthy routines, and helping youth access support when needed can make a meaningful difference.

If you are concerned about a child or teen’s mental health, consider reaching out to their pediatrician, school counselor, or another trusted mental health professional.
