Back Country Motorsports is looking to expand our team here at the shop. Currently we’re looking to hire a light/medium duty diesel mechanic.

Here at Back Country we work on all popular diesel platforms; Cummins, Powerstroke, and Duramax. We take pride in performance builds, maintenance, repair, and engine overhauls.

You will need your own tools and a minimum of 2 years of experience with light duty diesels. We can teach you a lot, everyone is constantly expanding their knowledge, but base knowledge is a requirement.

There will be zero tolerance for those who are not team oriented, have attitude issues, cannot show up on time, or use drugs. We run a relaxed work environment, but this is a serious job with serious responsibility as well.

Another 6.4L overhaul complete on this well built Ford F-550. This Stage 2 build is expected to be producing between 700-800Hp at the crank. #6.4l

While it's construction season in Michigan and the winter weather is finally gone many people have been needing basic repairs. Wrapping up the weekend with Great Lakes Diesel Shootout 2k22, we came in 3rd on the Dyno with electrical difficulties against two UCC trucks🔥. Looking forward to coming back stronger.

Here is a sweet custom job that we were just able to get completed! Truck was a 2003 F250 with a leaf spring front end that we converted to a coil spring front end! This truck rides SOO MUCH better than stock, it's really unbelievable. While we were doing this, we did some Icon 2.5in leveling springs with Bilstein 5100 shocks all the way around as well as a dual stabilizer set up with Bilstein 5100s, all new tie rod ends, adjustable track bar, and new rear leaf packs as well! Customer said it was VERY WELL WORTH the money to spend on this work horse! Let us know if you need any work done to improve you're daily ride quality!

We did two built 5r110s for two of our customers, both transmissions are built precisely to the applications for each truck. One is a 04 f350 6.0 and one is a 2010 f350 6.4. Both of these trucks shift and hold power with ease now. Thanks to Sky High Performance/Great Lakes Power Train for setting us up with these top notch units! Had a customer call and their 16 ram was stuck in 4th gear. We were able to pretty much diagnose the issue right there while on the phone and explain what was the most likely cause of the problem. They had the truck towed to us and we replaced the valve body and solenoid pack with an upgraded setup. This set up not only improves longevity but also increases the clutch holding power in the stock 68rfe. This truck shifts MUCH MORE consistently and firmly now and holds the Cummins power great!

We just got done putting a new short block in this 16 LML Duramax. It came in with no compression on cylinder 1 and after we got it apart, we found that it had 3 of its pistons cracked (2 of which were just minor and not causing compression loss yet but 1 had a nice hole). We sent the injectors to have them tested and balanced by Exergy (one came back bad, more than likely the one that caused the cracking of the piston). Since everything was already tore down, there was no better time to stud the motor and do new water pump, oil cooler as well as a bunch of other odds and ends. Truck already had quite a few good upgrades; cp3 conversion, bigger turbo, and built trans. We got this awesome rig back on the road and back into service! Let us know if we can help you!

We had a customer come in with his 6.4 powerstroke pushing oil out the turbos and leaking bad externally. Instead of suggesting that the customer get a single non-VGT, we helped him decide to go with an upgraded set of BD Screamer drop in replacement compound turbos (58.5/73mm). This setup spools EXTREMELY FAST, drops EGT Temps VERY NICELY, AND doesn't smoke any where near what we see with a single turbo swap due to a nice 50+ psi of boost. This setup paired extremely well with his 60% injectors and while the engine was tore down, we also did new rocker arm assemblies as well (common 6.4 problem). We had the pleasure of refreshing this 06 f350 6.0 powerstroke! It had a lifter start to collapse and wiped out the camshaft. It got a list of upgrades all while staying in a great budget. Let us know if we can get your truck running back up to where it needs to be!!

We did a much needed comp turbo s476 on this 07 lbz. This thing spools so smooth and quick with very minimal smoke being as big as it is and non vgt. The 6.0 Powerstroke got a new studded engine with 625+ studs, new OEM oil cooler, and a Thumper hpop. Let us know if we can assist you with your build!!

We got the pleasure of refreshing and upgrading this 860hp 1434tq (995hp 1530tq on spray) Cummins. We added ARP 625+ studs, Hamilton pushrods, Hamilton Competition valve springs Hardened valve keepers, Exergy 100% injectors paired with his S369 this truck runs amazing! Customer is extremely happy!
