Temporarily back. Post and articles welcomed because some of the voices of reason in this world have been silent. Still, after so many years, the Muslim media's impact is very limited. We had a vision many years ago, and that vision is needed even more today. If we want change– we have to stop doing the same thing expecting the same results. Iqra! Newspaper was all about allowing others to see the world through the lens on Muslims in the West, a fresh, inviting and retrospective approach.
While we were gone nearly 1,000 fans joined this page without an inch of effort from us mush'allah. This tells us that our friends and supporters are thirsting for something different. It's been 5 years since we last published a newspaper and the world has changed (and continues to change) in that short period of time. Where we go from here? We are still uncertain, but wanted to thank you for your support

Asalaam alaikum all - Iqra Is no more, 13 more days before deletion. Thanks everyone for your kindness and support. Remember our efforts in your prayers. We tried to share our thoughts, mind and religion with the all that would listen from the lens of a Muslim. We never tried to push any type of ideology or negativity on anyone. What we did was report the news, share knowledge, and tackle the myths. We did not limit our audience to Muslims. Often times Christians wrote to use or shared an interest in learning about us. We sent papers to them, to universities who also requested copies for their various programs, prisons... So I consider that part of our effort a true success. I was told by a Spanish TV station executive that this one was the only Muslim produced newspapers that he had ever read, and that he was going to take a copy on his next flight and read it cover to cover. We wanted the world to know that Muslims were not terrorist, that Muslims have rich culture and values. That Muslims are passionate about humanity and giving, seeking knowledge....that not all Muslims were closed minded like some believe. The paper stop publishing in 2009 but it has taken this long for us to finally let it all go officially. I thought this paper was different, unique and had a visionary scope. I have drawn many conclusions about many things and know that it is time to move on. If you are reading this message, it means that you were one of our well wishers and most likely supported our efforts. May our merciful Creator shower His blessings on all of you. No regrets here.

The paper ended in 2009 and we wanted to keep Iqra Newspaper active by starting a page. Thanks for your support and kind words. We have to move on.
